I feel sorry for Campbell County, Paris, and Augusta. After hearing tonight from some of Mason County's own fans the backstory to the ongoing saga, the 10th Region should look to impose a postseason ban on the Royals next season. This game wasn't even interesting unless you were a Taylor County fan. Campbell, Paris, or Augusta should have been the 10th Region representative. Very sad situation.

Thought TC was very athletic, but no more than expected. TC missed chance to give core rest and bench lots of PT which could be needed if they are to advance past tomorrow night.

Appreciated the Royals efforts. Garrison, Dunaway, Lofton and Perkins gonna be a solid core to build with.

About how I presumed it would pan out. Disconnect the head and the body will not function properly.

It's a shame really! To the MaCo team as well as Augusta Campbell Paris and hell Bracken for that matter.

How can a region impose a ban on a team?

So, before I continue typing on this thread, are you saying that Mason should be banned because of the schools conduct, or because of the player?

If it's the player, forget about it.

If it's the school you're talking about, might I suggest you write a strongly worded letter to the 10th region committee citing all evidence that you personally have obtained from the crowd at State Tournament.

Proud of the boys tonight. Play hard and never game up.

A bit surprised that as the big underdog without the marquee player, that the Royals still came out running and shooting at first opportunity, with no effort to shorten the game and play for a higher percentage shot.

I realize that Tigers don't change their stripes, but to come out and run/shoot with Taylor County was double-suicide.

It took Isiah Garrison a while to get untracked, but when he did, he put up 18 points on the night. Should be a major impact player for the next two years.

I'm not a Mason County person, so I have no dog in this fight. The Mason County folks I spoke with were very apologetic for the way a lot of things have been handled internally for a while. It's up to the superintendents, principals, and athletic directors of Augusta, Paris and Campbell to address this with the 10th Region Board. Suffice it to say I would imagine Julian Tackett and the KHSAA will at least peek at what is being tossed out there. If I were a fan of Paris, Campbell, Augusta, I would want Mason County banned from district and regional play at least next year. No excuses.

I am not sure who can impose such a penalty. I would think a school can do a self-imposed ban if put under enough pressure from other schools in the region.

I believe the administrators are the ones that should be punished. If it can be proven that they knew there was something going on. Why punish the student-athletes?

If you don't punish the program, no message is sent. If they fire an administrator or coach, they just pack up and find a job at another school. Mason County's basketball program, if this stuff is fact, needs to be punished. That's fine if they fire some of the people who are involved, but three schools in the 10th Region I would think are not real pleased tonight in Paris, Augusta, and Campbell County.

I hope all turns well in this this schools case. It seems to be a heavy conversation that shouldn't be drawn out on these forums.

Cheers to the Mason kids who played hard.

Also, Taylor really really impressed me. They'll be fun to watch.
