Double standard rules will get no nowhere. It sends the wrong message to every student and student athlete whether they play sports or not. When you are a coach you cannot have them. And as a principal you cannot have them either. This problem has been around way longer than this year. Biggs didn't create it. He inherited it. THE PROBLEM IS DISCPLINE and the double standard rules that lay in between that. So yes. Biggs should have addressed it from the start. But he isn't the creator of it. Coaches have been hired to help "cover up" and "smooth over" potential problems with student athletes that are know to exist. This done instead of plain ole simple DISCPLINE. Players have been pushed out (by coaches) and quit over similar issues in the past years. So to the leadership of our school. You get what you serve. A black eye for all involved. It's a bad situation but until leadership within our school system has enough manhood to do the right thing and eliminate the double standard rules and DISCPLINE our student athletes. Expect this to be the same. However, prior episodes tell me....they will acccpt zero blame.....like previous years. And It will be the student athletes fault in their eyes.

Partial rant over....for now

Not sure if the KHSAA can step in on a school policy that was broken. Not if it was a KHSAA policy I could see it. As I have no knowledge of what actually happened or is happening in this situation.

I have no idea what if anything the KHSAA could do. I think this is something the 10th Region schools have to huddle about. One player would not have made a bit of difference tonight as the Royals were completely overmatched by Taylor County's athletic ability and skill. But the one player apparently hit a game winning 3-pointer against Campbell County and was the difference in the game against Paris I was told tonight. Still, Taylor County wins this game by 15-20 points even if Mason was at full strength.

Think about this for a minute.

Final from December

I don't know what Taylor County did to get better from the beginning of the year, but they looked dominant today.

I also think the outcome is the same with Pig playing. Mason County had no answer for Goodin and Sloan, and Oliver was lights out from 3 point land

I'm not sure what you guys are thinking talking about bans. That is not going to happen

These bylaws pertain to athletic compliance. I've never heard of the khsaa telling a member school how to handle discipline outside of the sport in the academic setting.

Other than a bad look for the Mason administrators and superintendent there's nothing anyone can do. The tax payers would need to go to school board meetings and demand change.

As far as Augusta, Paris and Campbell, they lost to the better team. Mason was not playing with an ineligible player per their school rules.

This is not college.

MC probably still loses with Pig. But I will say that with Pig it changes the complexion of the game for MC. Everything both defensively and offensively started with PIG. I do think he would have been on Goodin and at least slowed him down (maybe 8 - 10 pts less). And that would have freed up Isaiah and Leevi to guard the other 2 guys. And Pig would have likely got his pts and would have allowed Isaiah and the other guys to play off of his flow.

With all that said...Pig should be held responsible for his actions. I hope that he takes this as an opportunity to help others avoid the same issues. I wish the best for him.

How about yall quit trying to get Mason county banned , and beat them next year! Mason co. Deserved to be at Rupp. They beat #1 Campbell , #2 Paris and a very hot Augusta team. With pig Williams playing this game would've been interesting.

So, before I continue typing on this thread, are you saying that Mason should be banned because of the schools conduct, or because of the player?

If it's the player, forget about it.

If it's the school you're talking about, might I suggest you write a strongly worded letter to the 10th region committee citing all evidence that you personally have obtained from the crowd at State Tournament.

Mason County Administration, what did you know and when did you know it? Asking only about the most recent infraction.

According to their own fans last night, Mason County has known about several things regarding the current saga for quite some time. Or at least past episodes that were "overlooked" during the season. No one seemed surprised by the event, just that it took so long for someone to act.

But it sounds like Pig Williams should not have been on the court for those games had the Mason County administration followed its own internal policies. Campbell County should be seething since Williams apparently hit a game-winning shot against them in the regional. Shame on Mason County if this is true.

This post is to people who are saying Mason Co should be banned from postseason play next season:

Why punish the whole team for one players action? This is not college, we don't do postseason bans on teams, plus, you don't have viable evidence on what happened. Only the school knows what happened.
