  1. Knew that was coming... How about: After that game Simon Kenton will be glad when this 2 year contract is up.
  2. I'd have to agree with JOAT. Context, context, context... EVERY DARN DAY, there is something somewhere blasting someone over something they said. The uproar is over a single sentence or even a sentence FRAGMENT. I'd also take a leap and assume that those involved, players and coaches, understood what it meant. Were the "head hunters" in the 2nd half playing quite the opposite in the 1st half? Maybe the coach was trying to get a different level of play out of them? Was he over exaggerating to drive it home? ***Not, like the softball catcher attacking the runner, or the pitcher throwing at the ump, or the attacks on refs. I'm sure if some opponent's parent might be upset if they overheard me tell a certain in linebacker/kicker that we all know and love to "GO TAKE SOMEONE'S HEAD OFF" or "GO BREAK SOMEONE" as I hit him on the shoulder pads... I'm also sure that said linebacker knows it's not to be taken literally. (Sorry for football reference in a futbol thread but that's what came to mind. Plus maybe it's a bit sexist but I'm also struggling for a scenario where I've actually told a girl to hurt someone in this type of context... hmmmmm)
  3. I'll be there for a little while tonight...
  4. The girls soccer natives should not be any more restless than the rest of the HHS natives. Actually they have the better record, unless you forget the forfeit. Then they are tied with volleyball at 43% wins. Girls Soc = 4-4-0 50% or 3-4-0 = 42.8% Volleyball = 6-8-0 42.8% Boy Soc = 3-6-2 36% Football = 1-3-0 25% **** Excludes cross county & golf as I don't have their records.
  5. Assuming you mean Jared Dougherty, he's both.
  6. Now I wish I would have stayed for the 2nd half!
  7. The NewCath side was full of fans, young and old. Looked like a pretty decent turnout of NC students. Highlands... Not so much...
  8. Highlands 2 NewCath 1 at half. Plenty of questionable calls, no calls, and horrible calls. Both sides are getting their share. Maybe slanted slightly against NewCath.
  9. I have been wondering that exact same thing for a while and never thought to ask on here...
  10. Saw a FB post from a defensive player that said only "Changes are coming!!! Go ______!!!" (Read this with a Law & Order donk donk in your mind **names excluded to protect the innocent and guilty**) Doesn't indicate what changes... Friday will be interesting no matter how you look at it...
  11. Scrolled around and didn't see this posted anywhere... Two players "appear" to intentionally tackle the referee in a Texas football game... Texas school investigating vicious hit on referee during high school football game | Fox News
  12. Didn't know he's an 8th grader... nice...
  13. Why not? Is it laziness? Lack of a way to do it? or the more sinister keeping the competition in the dark?
  14. That's the info that I have
  15. Pretty sure MOST regular posters are out having a beer, a shot, and a sigh of relief!
  16. Before halftime, I thought to myself... Wonder how long before we start hearing these boys should be given a chance on Friday night! :ohbrother:
  17. Maybe I'm not thinking about it the right way... But I'm stuck on the statements about it being denied because of the big schools, a big school mentality, etc etc... I don't understand why the big schools would really care, if it's about dominance. If you are one of the big dogs, you would still be a big dog. Is it that there wouldn't be smaller whipping posts to pave the way for easier wins into later tournament rounds? Or an argument about a SINGLE state champion vs multiple champs of different classes? Could it be, from a khsaa perspective, about costs for the additional state tournaments? Extra days at the ball park...
  18. Double lettered for football and dance team
  19. I was thinking the exact same thing @Lawnboy13.
