Coaches telling players to hurt kids and put them on the ground

Featured Replies

Was told about a boys coach telling his defenders to "take out his ankles" in a match earlier this season.

What I do not know is the context in which this statement was made, in my opinion, that could make a difference.

In the BG Games, I was witness to a coach telling his players to "just lower your shoulder and knock them down". The AR was within 20 feet of the coach and did nothing other than look back at him in disbelief. I still feel that the ref was actually MORE in the wrong than the coach was.

I'm sure it has happened before in all different sports. What brings this up?

Halftime today a local coach was telling his girls to knock down the other team. Run them over get aggressive and hit someone. All around the ref. he wanted someone knocked out. Great way to play soccer and all his girls did in the second half was head hunt.

This wouldn't be Ryle/Brossart would it?

How about SK/Conner?

Do I win a prize?????? :D

Why would you suggest this game? Ryle beat Brossart 1-0 last night and it was the cleanest soccer game I think I've watched this year.

Why would you suggest this game? This was probably one of the cleanest soccer games I've watched this year. Very few fouls and textbook defense and on-ball play by Ryle.

Depends how it was delivered. Was the intent to "injure" or was the intent to get kids to be more physical? Perhaps coach felt kids were getting knocked off the ball too easily and wanted them to be stronger with the ball.

The halftime talk was him encouraging them to play like savages. We turned down the music and the box and half the stadium could hear him screaming at them to assault someone.

If you are going to start this thread, you have name the team otherwise you are just causing speculation.

If you're going to start naming teams, you better be darn sure of the accusations.

Certainly wasn't the Boone/NCC game. I'm guessing SK/Conner...
