  1. 6th coach in 5 years is sad. St. Henry needs a young energetic coach who plans on staying there for years to come. You have to feel bad for the players who have to endure another coaching change. Interested to see everyones thoughts on who could replace Coach Schmidt.
  2. OB i disagree with you saying the success from Ludlow and Bellevue is related to their respective schedules. Bellevue doesnt dodge anyone and if you look at their schedule it proves my point. I see big schools on Ludlows schedule as well. Both of them have competed with much larger schools and will continue to do so. They are required to play their conference opponents at least once. My biggest surprise would be Boone Co. Coach Huff and his staff have done an incredible job this year.
  3. Nice job by the Panthers. I know Holmes has vastly improved and Nicholas Co. is a very nice team. Looks like Ludlows pitching and defense has been solid all year. Get those bats rolling at the same time and they could be a scary out next week.
  4. Coach Fussinger and his staff coached every play to the very end. Kids at Dayton are lucky to have a coaching staff that cares about them like they do. Dayton is young and will be better next year because of the coaching they received and the hard work put in this year. Kudos for those kids for sticking it out through a rough time. Ludlow showed a ton of class also. They actually pitched a kid the last 2 innings to try and get Dayton some good swings and at bats. Someday it could be the opposite with Ludlow being very young.
  5. Highlands NCC/Bellevue Dixie St. Henry CovCath Beechwood Boone/Cooper Ryle/Conner Sleepers who pull off an upset and get to Regional: Lloyd Ludlow
  6. Coach Gray verified the reason behind the cancellations. Newport has to make up a seed game and the only day both them and Bellevue could agree on was Monday. Bellevue hasnt played Silver Grove in the conference yet, you are required to play all conference foes at least once. Ludlow players are disappointed but they understand after the explanation.
  7. Very nice win for Ludlow. Walton is having a really good year with some nice wins. Looks like Ludlow continues to get great pitching performances and defensive play. If they can put it all together hitting they can be really scary and a tough out come district play.
  8. Ludlow led 1-0 into the top of the 7th. Dixie comes back and plates 6 in the top. Same type of scenario as the day before at Scott. Ludlow needs to learn how to finish off these high quality opponents. Looks like they are getting good pitching and defense but not scoring a lot of runs.
  9. 15-4 Ludlow going into the bottom of the 7th. Panther pitchers struggled as a whole tonight as Holy Cross scored 9 runs on about 5 hits. Good win for Ludlow as they continue to improve on the season. They hit the ball extremely well and played solid defense. Fun game to watch, both teams were into the game and gave a great effort.
  10. Ludlow defeated Holy Cross in a pitchers duel 2-1. Heard the winning run was scored on a squeeze bunt. Not sure what inning or who executed it. Any one with better details? Semifinals of the All A are tonight, Ludlow vs. NewCath 5pm, Beechwood vs. St. Henry 7:30pm. Ludlow is now 5-1
  11. LB- I really think you sugar coated this way too much. This was the most pathetic game I have ever seen. Missed layups, turnovers, dirty fouls, girls attitudes, fans acting like fools. One of the worst basketball games I have ever witnessed. This gave a new meaning to the term ugly basketball.
  12. Apparantly the whole baseball staff was in attendance last night at the Ludlow/Lloyd basketball game. Coaches were introducing themselves to everyone and some current players. There seems to be a buzz going around Ludlow and the excitement for baseball season to begin. Word has it they are starting today.
  13. You can guarantee if Roy Daines wasn't currently at Covington Catholic he would have been Kevin's first call to come to Ludlow. Roy is first class and an outstanding baseball coach. Any ideas on the staff he has joining him at Ludlow? Awful late in the year to put a top notch staff together.
  14. Lyon must be walking on at UC. Congratulations to the gentlemen heading to Georgetown to continue their football careers. Great choice!!
  15. Newcath sports continues to amaze me. Small school with really small feeder schools. They just continue to win and play for championships. Just this year the football team played in the state 2A championship, boys win the ALL A State Title, girls basketball gets to the final four of the A state, both teams are one of the favorites to win the 9th regions titles. Baseball team won the A state title last year and 2 final 8 state finishes 2 of the last 3 years, both had very successful soccer teams this past year, track, cross country, golf-it doesnt matter what sport season it is. They do get some talent for sure but to do this year in and year out is just amazing to me. One thing you have to love is that every Coach in the school encourages the kids to play all the sports they can. None of them like to see kids just concentrate on one sport. Congrats to the Breds. Way to start another new year off in grand fashion and set the tone for the remainder of the year.
  16. LCA is battle tested and Cordia is really good, even more now with the ineligibly ruled players back. Semifinals and finals should be interesting.
  17. Very enemic offense for Brossart. Very poor execution, missed 11 free throws, horribly timed turnovers the last 2 minutes. To me this is an example of a team that has beaten some bad teams. In all honesty, who have they really beaten in their 19 wins? Not many games on their schedule prepared them for the All A tournament. I almost left at halftime because this was a horrible game to sit and watch. I don't think they would have wanted to see Cordia tonight anyway. Cordia's pressure would have been too hard to handle.
  18. NCC student section was awesome. Amazes me how much school spirit they have for every sport. Give Highlands credit they did play hard regardless of the score. NCC was very dominating and now set their sights on an All A state title beginning Thursday in Frankfort. Good luck to the them on repeating as All A state champions.
  19. I hear practice was brutal and no basketballs were needed. Might have been just what the doctor ordered.
  20. Dixie is starting to play very well. Anxious to see their Feb 14th game at NKU against CovCath.
  21. Good win for Holmes. The fieldhouse is a tough place to play
  22. Scoring record is Ronnie Dawn. Ron's son who played at Marshall. Congratulations to Drew. Really impressive to have 1000 points in his junior season.
  23. Congratulations to the Cru. Kuebbing was sensational.
