Fleming County is pretty good. A lot of senior football players.

Could also be said that the game could have been closer. Messer's TD was a back breaker. Heck of a run.

Sindelar is an awesome player but I think Harris will win it.

Chip Kelly? They spread and run, but Kelly was a zone guy in college. Gus runs some zone now, but its relatively new for him.

I'm tempted to argue that run oriented teams benefit the most from passing league. Forces them to work on their pass game. Everyone benefits defensively.

These players for the most part are minors. The blame goes on the parent. They're not the ones filling out all that paperwork. Parents ultimately make these decisions for the most part.

I'm of the opinion that KY sports would clean up a lot of we allowed kids to go where they want. At the end of the day shouldn't we believe the parents know best? If a kid moves schools to be a part of an academic team or band that parent would be applauded. Sports aren't the most important thing but they go hand in hand with academics. Most really good athletic programs (especially football) in this state seen to have good academics as well.

If by middle school you mean 8th grade for the older Knipp then sure.

Maynard and the Knipps. Nothing wrong with it but they were transfers. Knipps came earlier than Maynard did. Like I said nothing wrong with what happened there but it did help a lot.

Elliott didn't recruit but they did reap the benefits of three transfers.... Nothing shady about it but it happened.

In reality should the KHSAA really have the power to stop a kid from playing. If parents decide to move their kids for whatever reason, why should the KHSAA have any say in the matter? I've always hated the transfer rule for that reason. I'm guessing the courts see it the same way.

That kid can play. He was huge.

This was an awesome experience. Players had a great week of practice. Would have loved to have had that kind of talent all on one high school team...man that would be fun. Players were obviously talented but they were all outstanding young men to boot. That is a tribute to their coaches as well as obviously their parents/guardians. I wish nothing but the best to each of the East players I worked with this past week. Made the week extremely enjoyable. Here's to them having rewarding careers at the next level and success in whatever professional fields they choose. Hopefully many of them will end up coaching and teaching and sharing their love for the game with future generations.

Excited about this one. The boys have been working hard this week. First time I've been around this game and it's a great experience for all involved.

Here's the thing, FBU and all of that stuff rarely helps with getting kids noticed. Stress to your parents that local combines and camps are better options for their sons. CoachJ put some great camps on here that get kids noticed. Rarely does a player who is truly Division 1 not get the attention they need. Combines are fine, but most of these camps and things that cost a ton of money are a waste of time. If you think your kid is D1 take them to small college camps and if you must maybe UK or U of L.

I think its fine the way it is, outside of the fact that I hate four team districts. Everyone should have to win at least a game in their district to get in IMO. For teams that barely make it in and get destroyed I'll agree. I think the experience is worth it, especially if you're not at a school that makes the playoffs on an annual basis. It helps teams build programs. In our area I think Lewis is a good example of why the playoff system can work. After beginning to make the playoffs their program has really improved over the past few years and have become more competitive on the local level than in previous years. Even won a district title a few years ago. However, I think it can be argued that with only 2 teams per district making it that play across the state would improve out of necessity. However, I think the effects are debatable. Do programs grow more due to increased exposure to the playoffs or would programs improve more by trying to improve their programs to the level of the top teams in their district to try to get one of two highly coveted spots in the big show? Who knows? Overall, I see no negatives in the current playoff setup, some programs will continue to improve regardless. Overall I think the level of the product on the field now is superior to what it was 10-15 years ago. Players do seem smaller though .

Excellent arm talent. Couldn't be 10 better arms in high school football right now. Kid has an absolute cannon on his right shoulder. Not as polished as many are coming out of HS, but he's the kind of kid you take if you're any of the schools in this area, save OSU who's system he doesn't really fit.

Better than Rondo? Wow.

If you hold your kids accountable for the work they miss what is the problem? May not be a great idea if they miss a ton of school, but if they're students who can overcome a day or two of missed school I don't see a huge problem with it.

Great game. Lofton is my favorite player that I've watched in the Sweet 16. Simply legendary HS player in this state. Both were great. Watched the 2nd one at home on the TV. Christian just held the ball in the OTs. Would have loved for Rowan to have pulled that one out, but I do think CC was the better team. Holmes and Central was awesome too. I remember that game. Holmes played about as well in that stretch as I've ever witnessed a HS team play. Catholic was good, but Holmes in that half made them look like Middle Schoolers.
