Last year, Conner seemed to have the most representation at the finals. I believe they had teams in 4 of the 6 champioships. Gray has always been strong in this conference in both boys and girls.

If officials want to get better, they go to these camps. In the 8th region, some games have evaluators there to give them feedback. Often the varsity officials will coach the JV officials especially on a controversial call. Over 90% of officials work at what they do to get it right. They are human and it is an extremely difficult task.

Generally their training takes place in summer. Like players, they have camps that they go to where experts on officiating evaluate every whistle. They pay money to attend these instead of getting paid.

Gray and Ockerman both have strong teams.

This seals Grant as the #1 seed in districts.

The 8th has 2 excellent teams (Anderson Co, SK) then about 4 others and the it drops off. The 9th has more depth at the top level (ND, Highlands, Conner). With that said, I am not shocked as I posted earlier, I believe SK is the class of NKY.

I am guessing#14 is the Cummins kid and he definitely kept GC in it early. SK couldn't guard the Braves from getting to the rim until it was too late. It looked like Grant ran the same play the whole game. Too little adjustments by the Pioneers.

Was Coach Roberts at the game? I heard she wasn't there.

From my understanding, Walton wants to play multiple players across multiple grade levels (ex: play a good 7th grader on both 7,8 teams) and the league frowns on that.

SK has a loaded JV team and I am sure playing Freshman gives her more PT. I wouldn't doubt the coaching staff on this one. Sometimes players just get hurt. Its part of the deal.

Beating a team 3 times in a season is not easy to do which is why I mentioned Eminence in the first place. They sit in a good spot with the bye in the first round.

Walton is definitely in the easier bracket but I do not believe they will beat the Eminence vs. Gallatin/Owen winner. I really believe that Eminence could pull off a surprise victory here. Anyone else see that as a possibility?

The Bearcats played hard in this one and opened up to a 17-6 lead in the first quarter, but they just couldn't guard the Braves for 4 quarters. They did a nice job on Carr early but he warmed up eventually. Good road win for GC.
