I got to watch him play at Collins in June. He's an athletic specimen for sure. Best 2016 kid I've seen in KY.

The entire Matts Mustang team looked really good when I've seen them. It wouldn't surprise me if they aren't all being recruited

Thanks for the input. You're definitely more in the know with them than I am. I don't doubt the kids talent at all. He made several instinctive plays. Like I said, he noticeably took some plays off, but that's not uncommon when it comes to AAU. I just thought it was odd because they were in a close game. I enjoyed watching him and Brown play. From my home in Shelby, it's less than an hour to Dunbar. I'll definitely come watch them play this season.

I saw Hollingsworth play at KBA. Someone in this thread said he was a PG. That's a little far off base from what I saw of his game. He's a nice player, but it looked like his AAU coach was begging him to play hard. He looked like he took some possessions off. I've only seen him the one time, so I could've just witnessed an off day.

Hard to really take anything away from June high school basketball. It's generally sloppy, and I mean that for the coaching and the playing.

You're absolutely right. Coming up short against quality teams shouldn't get a coach fired. But the complete circus he's brought to town, along with coming up short (given the talent he brings every year), should.

Honestly, he should be gone. Much like what happened at Thomas Nelson, the administration backed his play by looking the other way to bring in talent, and he didn't win. With all the backlash they've had to deal with, it's not really worth it. The only thing that's been consistent with his teams, has been that they consistently come up short.

I think Bullitt East, Trinity, Desales, and Ballard are at Butler this weekend too. That'll be the place to watch games.

Wasn't he the derby state AAU guy? Nowadays it seems to take a good AAU tie in to win. If that's the case, they made a good hire.

Based on KHSAA site they have most of their team coming back. That win total from last year looks deceptive though. Did you see their schedule? Portland Christian, St Francis, Brown. I do think this could be a great launch pad job for a first time head coach. 6th region, but not Jefferson Co.

What happened with Manimal? I know Hoop Dreams drilled them, but they don't ever go winless.
