Duffy put a stop to the bikes because one of the guys had a pretty bad wreck in the summer of '88 or '89 and that was it. He also began the "traveling" shirt in his first season (1988) and I loved it. Now, the ties were worn by the basketball players on game day more recently, but that too has gone by the wayside. I would like to see the ties again.

Great job Birds! I watched their first match as they beat Walton. Highlands has a very good young team and seem to have all the pieces. They'll be exciting to watch the next couple of years!

I was asked abt the timeouts by a fellow HHS fan and at the time I had no answer, but after talking to a couple coaches that were in the press box, they explained that they were gonna run their 2 minute O no matter the score. Harrison Co. supporters nearby agreed with the notion and had no issue with it whatsoever, but the perception is not good. Harrison Co. Head coach is a class act and so is their radio crew...I must have spoken with a dozen HC fans and they all were nice as can be. Good luck to them the rest of the way.

Cov. Cath. beat Dixie... I know it was probably the pre-injury Colonels, but still a win is a win. Never did I think I'd see Scott above teams like NCC, Conner, Ryle, BW. Good for them, that staff is feelin' great! Also, the Eagle players deserve all the credit they get...I hope All the former players from years past are liking this too.

Misinformed Highlands fans??? Clyde and many of the other posters arguing this ridiculous topic are not Highlands fans...Clyde is a Conner/Cov. Cath supporter.

Congrats to the Birds on the win! Highlands has a boat load of injuries as well. Today, Hope, Bardo, Schweitzer all left early with injuries...I agree with most of Hellbirds comment above too, but I think they will be challenged again this year. Elder & Warren Central remain in the regular season and playoffs will also provide some.

Yes, concussion. May be back next week. Grant Murray ran 70 yards for the go ahead score with about 8 minutes left in the game. Cam Johnston's PAT was the difference. Key play was a Bryce Traylor 60+ yd punt and his heels in the very back of the end zone with :47 seconds remaining in a 13-12 game. LB/RB Carter Burke also ran the ball well for Highlads. #8 did everything but sell tickets for Conner. Super athlete!

I know Conner had the ball at or near midfield and tried a fake punt that failed with four minutes or so left in the half and the score was tied at 6. Grant Murray had scored on a 40 yd. run up the middle for the Birds.

The Birds are visiting the Colonels and you can forget everything else...The amusing part is that the fans from other schools will enjoy a CCH upset more than the CCH fans. The difference: CCH folks have been there before, have had tons of success athletically in several sports and know how to win. Love going to Wooten Field to experience this game. I am a Highlands grad, but am good friends with several Colonels. Let the smack talk begin. Lol Hope both teams can get 100% healthy for the playoff game.

This was another good road win for the Birds over another quality opponent. Don't worry Snakesnot Highlands will lose at some point and you can gloat and be happy, but realize when that day/night comes you'll still have had no part in it. A great coach once told me "your worst win is still a heckuva lot better than your best loss".
