Wow! Shocker from the Fort! It has been posted many times on BGP that the Colonels dominate in 8 of 9 major sports...well, on this night we can make that number 7.

Big win for the Birds. As warrior mentioned Kendall coming back after a broken leg helps this team big time! Dougherty is a flat-out stud on both sides of the ball! This is such a good group of kids I think many of them will make a positive impact on the JV & varsity squads for 3 more seasons! The fact that these kids are good athletes is one thing, but they are also good students & a high character group. It makes it easy to root for them! My compliments to their parents & families!

I hope you are right RCC9. It is time Highlands girls contend for a title again! If Abner is ready will the Birds play 3 guards? They seem to be heavy at that position considering Abner, Adler, Coffey, Partin, Fisse & more. I hope they are tough on D, but like Boothe led the Birds in scoring virtually every game I think that should be Schafers' role! Daley does some good things and will have to be even more consistent. Don't get me wrong, I think this is as good of a team they've had in awhile. Also, hope to see Leigh contribute! I am sure I am missing someone else too, but it'd be nice to see a line up of Abner, Daley, Schafer, Coffey, & Fisse with Adler, Partin, & Leigh off the bench.

Nope, SK could beat neither this year or next, but in case you wanna talk to Coach Marksberry the Birds have a couple of open dates next year. I hope the call comes b/c I guarantee the Birds will show! Sure, Highlands & Cov. Cath. are busy playing LaSalle & Elder, but don't wanna play SK. Makes about as much sense as your Top 10.

I believe the series between HHS & CCH now stands at 42-17....also, folks bring up this '06 game. What about all the games before that? There were a lot of good match ups prior to '06. I know many of my friends from both schools remember these just as vividly! These games make it fun to re-hash...that's what makes it a great rivalry to me. Also, as other posters on here have mentioned the playoff winner often goes on to win a state title. You can't say that about many of the others mentioned. I do like the neighborhood rivalry angle too though, i.e BW & CCH. Wish HHS & NCC still played.

Weinrich has been listed as Asst.Head Coach for at least 5 yrs now. I hope they both stay forever, but Weinrich will get the job when Coach Mueller retires.

You might love it, but I guarantee the SK coaching staff wouldn't! Both HHS & CCH would beat SK IMO. No disrespect to what the players, parents, & coaches have done to this point...I am happy they are having success, but as my dad said " never poke a beehive" and the Birds & Colonels are the hives in NKY this year.

Agreed. Lower Woodfill is a dump & it drains poorly. I agree with Death Valley staying as the softball complex. The shed, concession stand, & scoreboard are all there....also, football should be gone if that was the deal agreed upon. There are no where near 60 frosh football players now. Not Dale's fault bat the soccer field completion running late. Furthermore, let's not forget the football program floats most, if not all other athletic programs at HHS.

The softball team often practices on the turf.

Agreed 2-9 to5-0 is fantastic! My point was that the COY award is not that important.

Does it matter? Do you agree or not? I know first hand I won the award back to back years & there were several teams/coaches better than us/me...just saying...nothing against any team or coach just reality.
