  1. Ohio State has played a cup cake schedule so far and everyone is impressed. Please enlighten us all why they should move up in the rankings? I don’t see it personally. The team they just pummeled was previously pummeled by UC the week before. ND barely looses to a top 5 team on the road and will drop several spots. A game they were supposed to loose if the rankings are correct. You got to beat someone of quality to start moving upward.
  2. Just maybe it has to do with residency now and not being eligible to be in the Cooper school district? If parents moved and she isn't considered an eligible dependent of an eligible resident?
  3. Great kid. Lauren worked her tail off the last few years and it paid off for her. Dad should be proud too. He took many off the shins all those nights catching in the bull pen. Very well deserved!
  4. Ok Clyde then answer this question? Girl swings and checks up over the plate in the strike zone and ball hits her on the wrist. Is it a foul ball or a strike or does she take a base?
  5. Same thing can be said about girls fast pitch. There are always good teams in the ninth that are better than some of the other regions competing at state. If you want to compete at vb get more kids playing club at a competitive level. That is why these schools are so successful.
  6. Yes they split up and for a couple tourneys and yes there were some top players not there.
  7. We've had a multitude of vandalism at NDA over the last few years. We have had holes cut into chain link fences and multiple lights broken as well as a $700 PA speaker stolen. Get cameras installed. It's a shame it comes to that but it's the only way to get prosecution.
  8. Very nice job and best of all no tax money was spent. That's getting it done the hard way. Everyone should be proud.
  9. Too many people want to change something and they have no clue what is involved. The last thing NKY needs is another start up league with too few teams that have to play too many double headers against each other. Chris tried to get the league in Kenton Co who was struggling to talk about forming a merger and use Kenton Lakes to play multiple games and increase the number of teams, a couple years ago. They were not interested because Kenton Lakes was too far. I've seen too many leagues struggle for too many years. Starting another one is not the answer. Chris puts in a lot of time to make this work and trust me it's not for his benefit in any way shape or form. Until you have done the work and put up with the aggravation you need to shut up and quit criticizing. Offer to help instead of complaining.
  10. You all are from the 9th you should be used to seeing crappy officiating by now.
  11. The fields in Owensboror do not meet the requirements listed to host Districts or Regionals. I haven't seen a list of requirements for State published anywhere. Their infields are too deep for one.
  12. Don't bet on it. Notre Dame beat Sacred Heart and Allen County who were both ahead of them at the time in the rankings and then dropped. They did loose to Boyle Co in a close one the same weekend as well and Boyle co was also ahead of them in the rankings.
  13. Not correct at all. NDA is not governed by the Diocese but they fall under them if that makes sense. They work together. NDA is like all the other schools as they are not supposed to play on Good Friday and Easter. Holy Thursday is sometimes a bit controversial but they can play. NDA actually has talked about hosting or co-hosting such a tournament.
  14. NDA sophomore pitcher Abby Jones throws Perfect Game. Congratulations again Abby. Nice work
  15. The annual event is on for tomorrow where St. Henry, Dixie, and Notre Dame all play each other to raise money to fight cancer. It is being hosted by NDA this year and it looks like we will be playing at 12:00,2:00, and 4:00. Infield was tarped and is just wet around the edges in a few spots. Outfield should be good by noon tomorrow.
  16. Couldn't agree more regarding lessons however when we talk about cheap bats and middle of the road we are usually comparing aluminum to composite. The difference when they leave the factory is minimal but as a composite bat ages it gets broken in and will perform better ( more pop), but an aluminum bat will only get worse. The composit bat acts more like a trampoline as it breaks in. I actually have an Easton Stealth that we out grew that is still in good shape. It is a 32 inch 22 oz. I am going to sell it at a fraction of the price of a new one. Pm me if you are interested. It is a balanced -10 bat. We have not used it much as we stepped up a size shortly after getting it. It has not seen hardly any BP or tee work.
  17. Sounds familiar but Brossart shouldn't be surprised as it was just as screwed up last year. Then late in the night they closed a good field and moved games to the crappiest one up front. Remember the NDA Bracken game last year on Friday night. It literally looked like a feed lot where cattle had been walking in between the mound and home plate. Mud holes were six inches deep everywhere they stepped.
  18. Former Northern KY girl and a couple of the Panda's used to go to school and played with her way back in grade school. Great kid
  19. Agree it shouldn't have anything to do with catchers interference but I seem to remember having this same problem at Bowman before. Seemed to me that the box was only 6' deep which is what baseball uses. Softball should be 7' deep.
  20. NDA's field is playable finally. Put tarp down today. Should be good for Friday if we do not get too much rain. Outfield is good as of right now but it is still damp. Can't take a lot of rain.
  21. Not seeing the game but looking at the score it sounds like he didn't do much.
  22. Another joke! Really who in the 9th would have cast those votes?
