Nice work tonight by the Pandas. Sadly for Hannah Sullivan her 2 run home run was called a double because of those lovely temporary fences. It was a great hit! Sparked a fire under her teammates though and we took the lead.

 

Still say future is bright in Ft. Thomas. Coach Coffey is doing great work out there. Just make sure not to miss the giant in stealth mode covering 3rd She would have taken him out too in order to get that base runner.

As a Cov Cath Alumni it's hard not to hate everything related the the Birds as most of the Birds will understand. Its just genetic we can't help it, but I have to tip my hat to coach Coffey he is doing great things with that program and is a class act. Keep up the good work it hasn't gone unnoticed.

As it appeared, when she was going back she knocked the fence over. It appeared she either just missed it or got a glove on it but the ball clearly was over her head and wound up behind the fence.

So I am guessing it did not happen like this catch in the MAC tourney last week.

We have a parent who takes great pictures and he actually got this hit on film. The ball actually hit the ground before the fence and then the girl ran through the fence. For those that don't know the fences at Highlands are a pathetic joke. Thank the powers that be we are getting a new field next year.

Well sounds like NDA got fired up for a correct call. Yes those fences are not great but beat the heck out of playing with out them.

 

We had a ball lined into the bottom of the fence yesterday and it got wedged. The batter ended up scoring bc it took the outfielder 2 or 3 pulls to get it out. Umps got together and made the batter go back to second. I guess that is the right call.

Not that it matters but if you remember the fence was knocked down...in the last photo with the ball it is standing. I'm still not convinced. Her glove was up high and behind her head when she knocked the fence down. Not sure where the ball landed but that photo doesn't prove anything to me. Great hit and great effort by the outfielder either way.

They were all taken continuous from the same spot.

The zoomed in shot is from the 2nd frame above. You can see the the black grid behind the ball. KC ran through the fencing as she tried to slow/stop.

 

At the time, I was surprised by the call, until I looked at the pictures.
