Girls Youth Softball in Campbell County?

Featured Replies

This is from a friend of mine on FB. Does anyone have a name I can give her to contact? She lives in Ft. Thomas and her daughter is in grade school; I guess around 10 or so.

Attn: Campbell County parents - any idea who I can contact about having my daughter join a softball league? I've tried contacting Campbell County Rural Softball and NKY Youth Association - no responses at all via email.

Thanks in advance!

I was just the middle man in this deal.

BigO: The CCRSGL is running two leagues. Monday night for 6,7,8 grade and Tuesday night for 4,5 grade. No high school. I know BBHS is looking for teams for Wednesday night double headers. I don't know of any high school leagues in the area, which is unfortunate. I prefer them but understand the need for the developmental / rec leagues.

Nice. Anybody want a senior pitcher/1st base/ OF????

I can say this, at the 1st two meetings of the Northern Kentucky Softball Coaches Association last fall, Chris Schreiber, who runs the CCRSGL, was there and addressed ALL the high school coaches about putting a summer league together for high school teams. He asked that all that were interested to get with him by the 1st of April so he could put things together.........he got ZERO response by his deadline. I know several teams have quite a few girls playing on travel teams, but there are plenty that could have benefitted by playing in this league.

OK since there's not a league for High School doesn't mean we still cant put some games together. I sent just about every coach in the area an email looking for games this summer and haven't received 1 email back which is a surprise

I know that Carey Heuer has some girls that want to play some summer ball but can't find a league to play in...

I know Coach Meeks at Holy Cross expressed interest in playing games when he attended the 9th Region draw....give him a call.

As far as NewCath is concerned, we couldn't field a team. Of the 8 returning starters, 4 play travel ball and 3 are in Conditioning/Open Gym for either basketball or soccer. The JV team has 4 playing travel ball and 5 others in Conditioning/Open Gym for either basketball, soccer, or volleyball.

What about "open gym" for softball? Not everyone plays travel ball.

I know an ump who would show up in exchange for a beer or two after the games. :thumb:

Of the ENTIRE NewCath JV/Varsity team, only 2 kids in-active at this point. Once volleyball and soccer season are over we will have open gym for softball.

I'm sure there are many that would fall into this category. :lol2:
