And then what? Anyone wanting to vote Chris out going to step in and run it? It's so much easier to sit back and criticize when you don't have to step up yourself and face the same music. Just sayin'

Maybe they should have elections and if people wanted him gone they could vote him out.

 

Curious how much you really know about the league, or if you're just trying to make issues bc you personally didn't get what you wanted. I covered a CCFP meeting for one of my daughters coaches this Spring. At that meeting Chris discussed that there WERE in fact two positions open on the committee. I'm assuming all those on this forum who keep ripping the league and the great job they all do, put your name in for one of the two positions, correct?

This league is a good instructional / recreational league. There are some competitive teams and some that are learning the game. There are some that understand this concept and others that struggle with the balance between instructional and competitive. Overall I think there are very few problems in this league, the problems that do exist are fairly common to most youth sports leagues.

 

One of the things to remember is that while the players are learning the game, parents are also learning the game, the nuances, rules and how it's played.

 

It's not perfect, but I do believe it is getting better each year. I would not allow the minority actions of a few influence the continued growth potential of this league.

RiverCity is doing an awesome job of putting together a quality league. Last year was tough and this year the schedule was a work in progress but only due to fact that the interest was growing so quick. Old RiverStar closer to Campbell County than Kenton Lakes, but much higher level of competition. When I was in the Campbell County league they never voted on officers or the Board, actually pushed me out of the league but all for the best.

Having a daughter who has played in this league and having a little understanding on how its run, I'm positive I wouldn't want to do it. The amount of headaches that Chris and the rest of the directors put up with would throw anyone over the edge. It is always easier to second guess someone when things are done they way you wouldn't have done them, but remember you may be looking at it from what is best for you and your team whereas he and the director must be looking at what is best for all teams and the league.

 

Every years little changes are made to make things better than the year before. Every year you learn what worked and didn't work and make those little changes. Times change and you have to be flexible.

 

I really believe they do a great job in running this league. If there ever comes a day when I don't' agree with something they are doing I'm going to get involved instead of sitting back and second guessing everything they do.
