I don't live in Ft. Thomas, so my kids don't go there. But, if I had it do do over again, or was moving, it would be my first choice. The results speak for themselves. A league at the new FT Thomas field would decimate the rural league.

I am officially retiring from coaching after my experience there. My girls are upset, but understand. I wish everyone luck. Not coaching doesn't mean I can't still be involved, even with a new league...

No where was it ever stated that CCFP (no longer CCRGSL) took credit for Highlands regional championship. Obviously when a new coach takes over a mediocre program and wins the crown two years later, he deserves credit.

 

In a league where the thee older divisions have a combined total of 24 teams, and only 4 of those teams are from Ft. Thomas, I hardly doubt a new league formed in their city is going to "decimate" CCFP.

Take your team to the new league.

I once again witnessed a pathetic attempt to cheat one team and favor another by Chris this past Monday night. Our game was going into the top of the 5th and we just finished the inning in the field. The score was 11-9 favor Sound Solutions. While the girls from Sound Solutions were getting their batting helmets and bats together a very close lightning strike hit nearby. All girls were ordered to vacate the Dugouts and head for shelter. (No pitch was thrown yet in the top of the 5th) After about a 30-40 delay the Umpire wanted to call the game but with no hesitation, Chris said he wasn't going to call the game because the team in the field had already thrown one pitch to start the top of the 5th inning....Mind you that Chris's daughter plays for Stegman Landscaping who was the opposing team. The Umpire and Chris decided to exchange a few choice words in disagreement with one another about pitch count and Chris one out because of his Authority. A parent from our team calmly chimed in standing nearby and Chris wanted no part of his input and Ejected him from the park for the entire tourney. Not just that night! Really.....Is this for real?

 

So we show back up Wed night at 5:30 @ Kenton Lakes to finish our Monday night game. We score 5 quick runs in a matter of 10 mins to end the game and push Stegman to the losers bracket. Fortunately we were scheduled to play another game or it would of been a very wasted trip on account of someone's stubbornness. This is not the 1st run in we have had with Chris. Is it because he cant stand the fact that we are from Ft Thomas or was someone just not hugged very much as a kid. Whatever it is, it's a shame that someone would use his Authority to diminish girls hard work and time for the short term gain of others.

 

I am so very thankful that we don't have to participate in that league in the future because our girls will be too old for the league. My point is, maybe those coaches at that coaches meeting knew what they would be getting in if they decided to travel down that very corrupt path with dealing with Chris.

 

Don't you think this is a little over the top? Or maybe not. Whichever it is I take it that you have been waiting a very long time to finally express your feelings. I have heard that there are some serious issues with that league being ran by just a few very close knit individuals that are tied to One very close by program near Ft Thomas. No names needed. I hope they get it straightened out soon. It would be a shame for the young ladies of Northern Kentucky not to have a league to turn to. Someone should form a backup plan.

First I was not at the game, but I do know that without Chris and a few other good people, Campbell Co Softball would be nothing, they started this program and it has helped every High School team in Campbell Co. We now have caught up with Kenton and Boone Co Fastpitch. I think CC softball has over 700 girls playing Softball. Also about not liking Highlands, Chris ran the 9th region tour. this year that Highlands won and was the first person to shake Robs Hand. So thank you Chris and your board for Campbell Co. Softball.

This specific division is for girls ages 6-8. However Chris does a wonderful job overseeing all of Campbell County Fast Pitch softball. Girls ages kindergarten thru grade 8 participate in the league. As was stated, this league has brought Campbell County softball to a point where these girls can compete with girls from Boone and Kenton Counties. Congrats Highlands for being the first of hopefully many regional champions from this side of the river.

 

Do you actually think that this league is responsible for finally competing with Kenton and Boone Co. Softball? I have heard that they play this league in Kenton Co. That's about as close as competing with Kenton Co.that this league provides. I will give you that:thumb:

I'm so tired of hearing about Ft. Thomas. Last time I checked, the world did not revolve around that part of Northern Ky. Beautiful city and a good school system but really?

Who are you talking about, if you are talking about Newport or NCC Belv. Dayton, they have only been playing Fastpitch for 8 years, and NO team from Campbell Co won the Region until this year, and we are glad Highlands has done it. But I don't think you want to look at the record NCC has won the Districts 5 out of 8 years, and three of the years

Dixie and ND and Homes were in that District.

I don't foresee Ncc winning the district again anytime soon. Good competition will make both teams better though.

I'm interested in hearing about the new league. What grades will it involve? I think many county kids would be interested in switching leagues too.
