I don't know anything inside, but I know Coach Pardue a little bit and think that if he did actually say no, you can trust it. Never known him to tell a lie.

Saw on another thread that Coach Mason was leaving Boyle? Is this true? Any info about a replacement?

Hard to call... Neither team has played well lately.

To me, Belfry and South Warren are close - with everyone else pretty much even. This class is as balanced as it can possibly get. The top ten could all beat one another (throw in Bourbon, as well), given the right circumstances.

Estill probably has the best player in the region... Maybe the best on this side of the bracket. Jones can spin.

Garrard's two losses have been their games with the highest rushing totals - over 300 yards both times, I think. Doesn't seem like they have been slowed down in those games.

I was at the game last year, and didn't see anything overtly disrespectful, unless you are talking about the rushing the field... Which was just the excitement of finally beating one of the big guys on the block. As for Coach Pardue -- talk of him being fired are silly. First two winning seasons since the 2006 season, playoff win against Boyle. I am sure the the principal and superintendent are fine with his performance.

I guess you would have to adjust for class??? Best in each class?

Well - I would agree that the previous scores have a lot to do with it, but that cannot be laid all on the previous staff. I agree Garrard's staff is improved, but a lot of the improvement can also be attributed to the natural growth, strength, and maturity of players getting older. This is a a Junior dominated team, with some Sophomores and seniors contributing. Last year, they were a Sophomore dominated team, with a few Juniors and Seniors contributing. Also, last year, the starting QB went out early in the game.

Not sure why people seem so surprised by this game... The score, maybe, but not the Garrard win. The game was really dominated by Garrard, I thought.

I think Boyle will win pretty handily, but you are way off on the team speed argument. Boyle has 1, maybe 2 guys who can run with Danville. That said, Boyle will execute and beat Danville easily, IMO.

You are probably right as far as Garrard's pre-season ranking, though I think they might climb... I know Scenters was a good coach, but Jerry Perry ain't no slouch.

What about Brent Holman at Bourbon?

We need to hold our horses... I know at least 3 of the teams named in this thread were at a college camp, with college coaches organizing and supervising the drills - though team coaches were participating, as well. We can argue about whether the loophole should exist, but it does exist... Can't punish people if no rules have been broken.

To me, only 2 seniors at 7 on 7 is not a huge cause for alarm... That seems to say to me that they probably have more seniors on the line, right?

Garrard @ Carroll County in 1992. GC was down 36-14 going into 4th quarter. Patrick Sapp led a Carroll County run & shoot that was carving the Garrard defense up. Garrard got a couple of stops, ran their triple option, and wound up winning 54-43, or something like that. GC's fullback, Keith Leavell ran for 7 touchdowns.

So were those mid-90s Garrard teams. 93 & 95, in particular. That 93 team was undefeated going into the Regional Final with Bardstown & the 95 team beat the aforementioned Beechwood team in the first game of that season, if I remember correctly.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that you aren't an educator.

It has been my observation that you really can't tell a lot about numbers in the Spring. Freshmen haven't arrived, yet, and you also have track and baseball. In small schools, that means up to half of the roster sometimes. Then you factor in injuries. Especially in a program with a new coach... and I don't think Garrard has had huge numbers most years have they, JW? Plus, Coach Perry's intensity, alone, is worth at least one win against a team they "shouldn't" beat, IMO.

Garrard should be pretty good. Should have a lot of playmakers coming back...
