It is like the KY prep version of black Monday in the NFL. Only here is a random day in late January.

^ Or in this case the question asker.

Just spoke to someone inside Harlan Co schools. The direct quote was "He will not be returning as football coach."

I just heard this. From what I heard it is official.

New principal told him it was time for a change.

New principal told him it was time for a change.

Could have told him that before Thanksgiving, why wait till now.

Could have told him that before Thanksgiving, why wait till now.

Then some posters would have been complaining wanting to know why before the holidays.

But it is a good question, if you know, why wait?

If you didn't know until now, what changed your mind?

I've heard that due to the struggles of the coal industry that some of their talent base has eroded. Is this true and did it contribute to their struggles in 2014?

At Harlan County......it's not what have you done for me. It's what have you done for me lately!

An educated guess would be a population decline of at least 20% over the past decade. Most don't realize what a tremendous parade of sports personalities and athletes Harlan County has produced over the years. Most notably, Cawood Ledford, Wah Jones, Bernie Bickerstaff, Ray Massey and Charles Thomas just to name a few.

I hope this is not the way it ends for Coach Larkey. Fine coach and gentleman.

I'm sure I'm not the only Knox Central fan feeling a bit nervous at this development.
