All the injuries for BW at varsity level have hurt the JV squad as well. I have not seen them, but the had SK beat but fumbled a snap from the 1, and Cov Cath throttled them.

Watched them play vs BW. Tigers second string O was in two series into second half. Their offense wasn't able do anything, may not have made a first down vs first team D. Highlands gets a W in this one.

You mean like you did to those coaches in Boone County Youth League? Not sure there's ever been a bigger hypocrite.

The issues we are facing in Ft. Mitchell is that our coaches schedule teams to get our Tigers ready for the playoffs. Your coach knows your only shot at glory is to schedule 1 and 2A schools and hope the regular season masks how inept he is at running a program. Who will the 2013 transfers be?

Good question. Was all Tigers most of first half, and I honestly thought after going up 13-0 it was time to fire up that Croswell they rolled in on. When BW got the ball back. I made comment that another td would do it. Then the fumble and ensuing birds td followed by the pick, all of a sudden it felt like a game. Had they been able to score, momentum was all on their side. Couple the stop on 4th down with the long td run right before half and the 2nd half was just a formality, really took the wind out of highlands sails. OSD, was not aiming my comment at you. more to the poster who stirred the pot by insinuating that some bw kids were going to defect

Who cares? Nobody would argue that BW HHS game would be ugly, this year, last year, next year. Highlands is not Simon Kenton. They play a big boy schedule and dominate it. They are a top 3 team in this state, at any class. The comments above about the bw parent, call me skeptical. None of this class is leaving, even the newcomers are tight knit. All I'm excited about is the potential to beat the Mayfields and Frankfort.

Stringer gathering all the praise, and trust me I agree kid is a special talent, but the play in the trenches was dominated by BW. Braden Combs, at 6'4 215, is simply unstoppable on both sides of the ball. His agility and blocking ability at TE are is off the charts for a frosh. What you didn't see last night was his abilities as a pass catcher. When he didn't make the plays on D, the two lbs were there making what seemed like every tackle. Little taken aback by some of the comments on here, last I checked BW has a few trophies in the case as well. We don't live for freshman football wins, but we certainly are looking forward to the future. The sophomore class is very good as well, should be fun.

Not yet. There is not a team on that list that wouldn't be 4-0 with that schedule they've played, and without key injuries to opposing. players SK isn't unbeaten. Now they get another down 2a school this week? Kind of embarrassed for them.

Frosh version of SEC speed vs B10 power. Tigers will open it up, they have 5 kids that can flat fly. Birds will pound it off tackle all night. My heart tells Tigers win it, head tells me Baby Birds in a tight one. C'mon heart.

Agree that Mitch showed he can be a guy to help carry the load, but honestly after watching him the last few years I had no doubts. What was most encouraging for me was the play of Cameron Layne at QB running the football. Think.the coaches allowed him to use his athleticism by putting him in the pistol with Mitch. He still needs confidence throwing the football, but showed what a weapon he can be.

Don't want to spread rumors or violate HPPA, so take this as unofficial, but word in The Ft. is that Gage has an acl and his senior year in the field is done. Still no clue on Max, think we are in week 3 Of 2-6 timeframe

Can't argue with any of these names, all fine players. How about some up and comers, new kids to look for? I'm a BW Tiger, so I can't wait to watch this crop of freshmen, specifically the Combs and Stringer kid. Watched a couple of their summer games at Midland, they both, IMO, start varsity day 1 and hit 3/4 in lineup

True. NOBODY leaves that town, its NKy version of the west side. All kidding aside, HHS is the model for how to run a program.

Great post, and you are exactly right. Having a leader in the football program that knows how to form, and run, a top down program is crucial. I have no idea about the competitive environment around BG, but in NKy it is fierce, but nothing is being done to instill loyalty and pride in the kids. With social media, kids no longer just know kids at their own school, they have friends everywhere, and in a metro area like this, where they all attend the same festivals, parties, etc. the risk for defection is high. The old addage "if they don't want to be here I don't want them here" doesn't work. IMO, with teenage boys, its up to the coach, and program, to make them want to be there.

Yep. Tigers are stacked at the skill slots. QB played great as well. NCC seemed to be geared to stop the run, he hit some early throws that loosened the D and the rb ran at will in 2nd half. They are going to be a tough beat, Highlands game is a must see.
