Wow! This is a huge problem for kids who think they have pro potential and don't cover their bases along the way. Kids need to make sure they take care of their education first, They need to have a plan for their future in case he is just another really nice 6'4" high school and college player.

I don't think there are a lot of head coaching jobs at colleges in the area. I don't doubt he takes a year or two to watch his son play ball. I'm assuming a Head coach spot at a college would require relocation.

This is the school that I heard. Maybe the coaching plan is more of a long term game plan? I'm assuming open gyms are going on as scheduled with coach Listerman?

From what I was told he was going to a public school for that reason. Interesting take by SSC that he heard it was a teaching job and not a coaching job.

From what I was told from a former co worker. It is a head coaching job and that that job had not been posted. My question is do they have to post head coaches positions? This person indicated it would be announced in the next few days.

Heard former NKU coach Bezold landed a new job? Has anyone else heard this? And by the way, I posted it in this forum for a reason.

The style of play for the all star game is typically a run and gun format so the point guard becomes less important in this type of game.

Both the NCC players mentioned are great players and have elected to play ball for free at the next level, but I think you may be wearing the blue and gold colored glasses on this one. The list is solid and probably both of these kids had their names brought up during discussions.

He actually shoots better from behind the arc than he does from inside the arc.

Is it lack of players or lack of coach playing them? In this years team I think it was lack of players. Congrats on a nice run, especially for the Seniors. Plenty of classy kids on this team. Good luck to the Bulldogs.

Hard to compete with the southern states who have the chance to play year round.

See my post #19 . I have no issue with him coaching a team. Do not like the fact he pulled some teams out of the local parochial school league since he did not like their team formation guidelines. He is the one who researched playing time rules from other dioceses around different cities. The note may have come from the Bishop's desk but you can bet Clines is the one who wrote it.

I would say just the opposite. I'd tell HIM to stop jumping ship, The grass is not always greener. Unpack the bags and buy a house in Park Hills. Enjoy the ride, Cov. Cath is a great place to work.

FYI, You are currently in the "Ky. Boys basketball (high school)" Forum! Pretty much indicates to me that it is about being a great HS player. Size matters in the next level.

I disagree with you on size. This thread is about being a great High School player. A great Guard in HS does not have to be big. Quick, good shot, passes the ball, runs the team, handles the rock, plays good defense--those attributes make for a good HS guard.

Congrats! Does he hold the scoring record at Beechwood as well? Did he play all 4 years at Beechwood?

Why didn't they do it the other night? I do think NCC was out coached this game. Dawn does a great job but he has had a load of talent the past couple of years. He has outclassed the All A state tourney with this talent, but can't get out of the region. How many of his players have gone onto the next level recently? My guess is more than any other school around. This should equate to winning the big ones?
