I am a Anderson Redskin alum.

What was Mayfield's record in 1980 and how did they miss the playoffs? To be honest I dont recall that. The last time Mayfield even had a bad record was 1974 and I believe they were 5-5. I could be mistaken so correct me if I'm wrong.

I thought Critt Co played a very good game, they had some nice looking players like #14 and #4 and #28.

I was there and around 25 to 6 or so was about right. Caldwell never really moved the ball and we moved it but it wasn't with ease.

Beechwood may very well be the #1 1A team but why shouldn't Hazard not be #1? I dont believe Beechwood is a 100% lock to win the title. A few injuries here and there and you never know. Hazard played their schedule perfect and at this point they might deserve to be called #1. After saying all of that, I believe either Beechwood, Frankfort or Mayfield will win the title with Beechwood being the favorite.

I see this game about 35 -7 Mayfield's way.Same style of ball from the Caldwell game except maybe a little more passing. No injuries and everyone stay focused, we might have a shot.

To me, the team that has made the biggest turnaround is Caldwell. I cant go with LO or Fulton City because of their schedule. Both coach's for those programs have done a great job though.Lets see how those coach's do after they graduate this bunch. And to you "purple flash" to answer your question what has Mayfield done lately? Just last year they were in the state semi finals and the year before the state finals. We all know here they have hit a rough spot this season and it may or maynot get better for this year. I will also say the future teams of just about any wky team is not any brighter than Mayfields for the 4 years.

Marshall is the best team we have faced so far. Mayfield moved the ball some on them but couldn't punch it in.

With east traveling west this season, if Mayfield defeats Fulton City in the second round what happens next? Does Mayfield have to travel since they didn't win the district?

Some here are confusing stats with greatness.Plus, I think this thread means greatness at next level. Woodson had very modest records at his highschool but he had great potential. I'm sure many of the young QB's that are being mention here are good and great highschool QB's but which ones can get Division 1 offers?

Time for Mayfield to get mean and focused. Play like you were playing, get everyone healed and everything will fall in place.

The QB for Calloway was impressive. He was very acurate and he could throw on the run also. He is the best QB i have seen this year. Their receivers caught just about everything thrown their way and had a knack for finding soft spots in the defense. Calloways defense swarmed to the ball and they were impressive too. Mayfield was flat and maybe this butt kickin will spur them on and hopefully will help them to make a run deep into the playoffs. One final note about the game last night, I dont know if we see that kind offfense again this season, it seems to give us trouble. Calloway reminded me of Marshall when they had Aryd at QB and Williams at the running back postion. We had trouble with them also and I believe they beat us 28-0. This game is now history and lets look forward to our remaining games and the playoffs.

Nice win. I watched this game with interest being down here in WKY we dont see much of NKY football except deep in the playoffs. Boone and Dixie both had better than average lines and nice skill people. Dixie was in the game most of the way but Boone Co and #22 exploited the single coverage they played on him and he came away with 3 TD receptions.

No gloating, just looking for your reasons. So far, Mayfield has answered the bell every time this season. I have yet to see a truly lackluster performance. The time will come this season when they dont play their best but hopefully when that time comes they wil dig deep.

Why do you think it will be closer? I say if Mayfield plays up to their capabilities they win by 3 to 4 td's. You have Mayfield rated as the #1 small school in WKY and Calloway gave up 48 to Trigg and even 30 to Murray,why do you think they will play better against the Cards? Looking at their schedule and at whom they have played,I see a very suspect defense that will have alot of trouble defending all of Mayfields weapons.
