Haskins at one time was the offensive cordinator at Paducah Tilghman back in the late 80's and early 90's. They had some serious talent at PT back then.

Very Nice crowd at the game for both teams. Mayfield and PT have a mutual respect for each other and it shows on the field and off it. Armstrong played fantastic, he throws the ball where nobody but our recievers have a chance to catch the ball. Mccuiston played very well also, he caught some great throws and he had a very nice defensive game. Kudos to Simpkins, Pruitt and the offensive line and the play of our freshmen who dont play like freshmen. Well done men.

Danville, solid as usual

It's huge having Armstrong back to QB this team. I too thought he was more valuable on defense but after seeing him play QB I now think he is just as valuable on offense. If Mayfield plays the way they played against Graves I like our odds very much.

I believe Mayfield is possibly the #1 team but should be the solid #2 team.

Great gutsy win for the Cardinals. I think this victory says alot about this team. They played with much emotion and desire. This team can get better and play for a state title.

The Mayfield boys are confident, I predict a victory.

Tough game for Mayfield. We have the edge in overall team speed, they have the edge in line play and depth.Graves has to be the favorite but if we can get some solid line play I'm hoping to pull out a victory.

Payton, Graves is lucky their not 0-3 or at least with 1 to 2 loses. Mayfield will have their hands full thats for sure.

Joe Casey was everything you wanted in a highschool back,speed and power. Now my "homer" selections are William Murrell and Marcus Moss.

Cant argue with Alexander at all. Pinner was a load also. We will never know how good Casey could have been. He was fast and strong like alot of these backs that have been mentioned.

Joe Casey from PT was pretty good and a 1st team all USA TODAY in 03 in the same backfield as Peterson from OU.

If Mayfields line play improves as the season moves forward, my thread might be the same as this one for the playoffs. Mayfield has 8 to 10 players with plenty of speed, a few with serious speed and Mayfield's coaching staff knows the ropes in how to prepare a team for the playoffs. Frankfort may be the deal but they still have to get through us at War Memorial when the time comes.
