Highlands 33 John Hardin 26
Actually, the Birds were missing 2 starting linebackers in the second half....on top of the injuries that occurred. Surprised nobody noticed. Birds win. On to Paducah.

Matt Elam named preseason Mr. Football by Max Preps
You can see him now. Really good kid. Large too. The young man next to Matt is a legit 6'3", 226 lbs. Have had the chance on multiple occasions in the past few months to spend some quality time with him and one of his coaches. You would expect more attitude from a prospect such as him, but none of that. Just a good, humble kid. The first time we talked to him was at UK, at the time, he had 1 offer....Eastern KY. Obviously, things have changed.

Top 5 in Kentucky
I believe St X and HHS's upcoming senior classes played each other head to head as frosh. I remember counting the number of players on the St X frosh team as they entered the stadium at HHS. Number of St X frosh exceeded 100 if I remember correctly. Anybody remember what the outcome of that game was?

Lex Sowards, Ryle, Picks Up Butler Offer
Good for Lex. Good kid. Pops too. Met him a few weeks ago. Butler is hitting NKY pretty hard it seems. They offered Seth Hope of HHS last week. Pretty cool. Great school too! Congrats Lex!!

Will Highlands and NCC Ever Oppose One Another in Varsity Football Again?
He is wrong on Collinsworth. I think most of us can agree on that. Things have likely changed a bit since his recruiting days. He is letting his emotions get the best of him re this potential/past rivalry. He has made inflammatory and egregious/aggressive, potentially threatening, remarks about the HHS fan base (nothing new, many have done this and some is deserved). But, based on this "experience", and the fact that he has a kid on the NCC team, that he is marketing (see many of his/others previous posts), you can figure out who he is... you would think he would be a bit more selective with his public analysis/comments, particularly when talking about kids, or even men in Collinsworths case. I am sure he wouldn't want someone bashing his kid on a public message board such as this. JMO, but it doesn't play well, not only in the HHS fan base, but many in the NCC fan base have an issue as well. Just my two cents. Best to both teams, and all of the players, this coming season.

Seth Hope From Highlands Picks Up Offer
Grandpa is 6'2, 300 pounds to this day. Has probably shrunk a couple of inches since college. Played OL in college. There was draft talk back in the day and then injury his senior year cut the career short.

Seth Hope From Highlands Picks Up Offer
No. For those that are interested- The football team essentially "sponsors" you through the admissions and tuition/financial aid process. While grades and test scores are important, so is the athletic ability. They don't offer a kid that is smart that can't play at a Division 1 level. It takes an exceptional athlete to get an offer from anyone, you have to have exceptional athletic and academic ability to get offered and attend and play a sport in the Ivy League.

Ranking Top 25 KY Prospects 2014....(#15-11) BBK Article RJ Taylor #11
It is a 2014 prospect list. It is about recruiting. Many of the selected athletes have been invited and will be at the rivals camp. I am not saying either of them belong, or don't belong, on this list. Everyone has an opinion, including the author, and you are certainly entitled to yours. I don't have one on either of these 2 young athletes. Like I said, I hope they both end up with high d-1 offers. Best of luck to those on the list and those that, potentially, belong on the list for a healthy and productive senior season.

Ranking Top 25 KY Prospects 2014....(#15-11) BBK Article RJ Taylor #11
The list is about recruits. Who would be the better, higher rated, recruit? Meiners or Walker? I don't know. I don't know either of them. I am not saying either way. But, based on what rivals, scout and others have to say about their vitals (ie size, position, etc.), I am guessing, Meiners will be a more sought after recruit. Not saying that he is a better high school football player at this time, or in the past, just that he will likely be rated higher from a college football scouting perspective. Right now, it is about potential. I am guessing that this is the case here. I hope they both end up with high d-1 offers. KY HS football just isn't highly regarded at this time. The more d-1 recruits that come out of KY the better for everyone else in the future. There are D-1 programs that don't even have scouts assigned to KY. That changes only when there are enough quality football athletes coming out of the state to require it. JMHO, based on experience.
