Have the dates and times for the various classes been released yet?

I know it is Dec 6 and Dec 7, but not sure of the times/day for each class and I can't find it published on the KHSAA website.

 

They have been rotating, but I can't figure the pattern enough to predict. Here is the lineups the last several years...

 

2012: Fri - 1A 3A 4A; Sat - 2A 5A 6A

2011: Fri - 1A 2A 6A; Sat - 3A 4A 5A

2010: Fri - 1A 2A 5A; Sat - 3A 4A 6A

2009: Fri - 2A 4A 5A; Sat - 1A 3A 6A

2008: Fri - 1A 3A 5A: Sat - 2A 4A 6A

2007: Fri - 1A 3A 5A: Sat - 2A 4A 6A

I understand having one of the bigger classes playing the nightcap for attendance reasons but I wish they would go with a better rotation for the other classes. I think 1A gets the shaft having to play the 11am game each year, usually on Friday.

When they started this, I believe there was supposed to be a regular rotation. I can buy into the 1a 2a being early games, but the same classes should not be stuck on Friday all the time. I had no issues with this when it was the Friday after Thanksgiving, but it really reduces your fan-base when people have school and work.

Given that BG is likely to be in the champtionship game, wouldn't it make most sense for them to have the primetime game on Friday and leave the Saturday primetime slot open for the 6A teams that have to travel further and might being additional fans if they have more time?

If they went that direction I think it would be better to have a 1 Thursday, 2 Friday, 3 Saturday format.

The only thing I don't like is the Thursday game being on a short week. Every team playing on Friday as it is is basically deprived of one day of practice with travel, the hoopla of sendoffs and checking in..playing Thursday essentially means 3 days of practice and at best a walk-thru barring practice on Saturday and Sunday.Imagine it was the 4A game and CovCath had just hosted a Semi-Final that prior Saturday.. either they have to leave Wednesday or very early Thursday morning.

 

I like the idea of:

Friday- 2A, 3A

Saturday- 4A, 5A, 6A

Sunday Morning- 1A

AMEN!!! Rotate 1A and 2A between Friday and Saturday at 11 am. I would rotate 3A and 4A also. I am ok with 6A staying on Saturday night for attendance reasons.
