1A typically has the longest drive for the two competing teams, with the trend being a team from about as far West as you can get (Mayfield) or as far North as you can get (Beechwood), and a team from about as far east as you can get. Give them the opportunity to travel on the weekend when more people can get off and the kids miss less school. An additional byproduct is 1A teams are typically the most subject to injury impact. Those couple extra days could be the difference in a player being 100% or not

I know it is Dec 6 and Dec 7, but not sure of the times/day for each class and I can't find it published on the KHSAA website.

 

They have been rotating, but I can't figure the pattern enough to predict. Here is the lineups the last several years...

 

2012: Fri - 1A 3A 4A; Sat - 2A 5A 6A

2011: Fri - 1A 2A 6A; Sat - 3A 4A 5A

2010: Fri - 1A 2A 5A; Sat - 3A 4A 6A

2009: Fri - 2A 4A 5A; Sat - 1A 3A 6A

2008: Fri - 1A 3A 5A: Sat - 2A 4A 6A

2007: Fri - 1A 3A 5A: Sat - 2A 4A 6A

With all due respect ATLCat, I still ain't buying the play on Sunday idea.

There is a list on KHSAA. I know 6A is last game Friday and 5A is last game Saturday. Next year these are flipped with 6A last on Saturday and 5A last Friday contest. I am oaway from home. I will post link later if someone does not locate it first.
