And taking nothing away from Greenup for leading most of the game and taking advantage of Fleming County's multiple turnovers (2 in the red zone and 1 they returned for a Td), but Fleming was out of sorts on offense as well. You see, they lost their best player (pre-season district player of the year in Cats Pause and a kid with D1 offers) in the first game. The star of their first game, was limited in practice all week due to an injury and their starting left tackle was in an accident yesterday morning and didn't play. They were coming off an emotional win over long time rival Mason County and could have been looking ahead to rival Rowan County. They, as well, only found out Wednesday morning they would be playing on Thursday. However, they still beat a very good Greenup County team. I say all that because sometimes you just lose ball games. I know Greenup had a lot going on this past week and I am sure they will next week as well. As will Fleming and every other team that plays. They will regroup and be fine!

Greenup only scored 10 points on offense. They got 7 off an interception return for a TD. Fleming County has played pretty good defense so far especially in the red zone.

Nice win for the Panthers! Great way to respond after losing Alexander. Greenup is HUGE and has a nice team.

Mason should win big. I think they are a much improved team from last year.

Just a guess, but I would say he is definitely out this week. He was wearing a brace and on crutches Friday after the game. He was getting an MRI today, but I have not heard anything else about it.

Most definitely. Easily their best player.

Mason County is much improved! They hit a long pass and then converted a fumble on a kick return to a quick score. Overall, it was a fast game. Fleming County went to the run game quite a bit. I think both teams only had around 6 or 7 possessions. Losing Zac Alexander seemed to take some steam out of them as well.

Final. Very hard fought ball game. Mason County is much improved and played a tough game. Prayers for Fleming County's Zac Alexander. He hurt his knee early in the game and was on crutches in the 2nd half.

Nothing suprises me when it comes to high school sports! I agree that the Royals are improved from last season.

Fleming will win because of the experience and skill kids they have returning. Not sure that it will be a shutout like the last 2 seasons, but I believe Fleming will win.

West has a ton of speed! I think that will ne the biggest difference in the game.

North Adams is in their 2nd year of football. A club team not school affiliated. Was outscored last year in 7 games like 363 to 9.

Greenup will win big.

Replacing 4 linemen on offense and 3 on defense looks like a tall task for Fleming. Sam Johnson left a big hole on O and D. Eugene Hamm was a stud and will not be replaced. They will get 14 Jaden Campbell (was Waller) back this week. He just punted in the grid. He will help athletically, but again, I don't think that was the issue Friday. I think athletically, they can beat a lot of their schedule but won't win any big games unless the line play improves dramatically. Turnovers hurt them, but first game contact can lead to fumbles. If the fumbles continue, then that will be a concern. Crump is a gunslinger and will take some risks. He will hopefully mature with his decision making as the season rolls along. He is a threat when he tucks it and runs. That should be an option instead of forcing some balls.
