  1. Think it is Ligon's to lose we will see, Hamilton was not the name that I heard
  2. I do but was asked to keep quiet, it is a home run hire if it is who I think it is Also very nice to meet you at the 10th regional tourney, even though it was cold and I had to pay twice.
  3. None of the 4 listed will be the head coach at Lafayette, guaranteed! Last interviews are today
  4. Heard that Tony was not getting an interview and that in itself is a joke! Leave it up to Fayette County : )
  5. 8th region players below: Devon Rowan North Oldham Tyler Wesley Oldham Kerry Smith Oldham Cody Chambers Simon Sawyer Williams Owen Jack Sherry South Oldham Dez Marshall Collins PG from Walton Verona only a sophomore but very nice player can recall his name Morgan from Gallatin County
  6. Thought he had Darryl Hicks this year probably the only reason he accepted the Collin sjob in the first place. Makes you wonder how long he stays there. They have some young talent in their program for sure
  7. Same reason I see Oldham winning the 8th again myself. They were top 5 in the state in defense again this season, 47ppg. Playing a tough schedule, and giving up only 47 a game is unbelievble. They return alot no reason that they are not cpmpetitve. But the 8th again will be wide open in my opinion with any of the 8 having a chance to win a region. Watching the 8th region Oldham is the only team that steps out and plays 7/8 region teams which I think helps them. North Oldham will flat out guard you as well, they will only get better with Coach Henley.
  8. Walton who won their district this year will win it again as they lose nothing from this years team, even though Simon has juniors they still lose some players, and still can not get past first round of region apparently. Simon supposed to have been winning the 8th for the last 4 years. Owen hosts their district and return all starting 5, look for the other Williams 8th grader to play alot of varsity and the guards to get better. Oldham returns Smith and Wesley, North returns Levitch and Rowan. Old Jon Jones will have his boys clicking and Collins should be better! Look for Oldham to repeat as champs
  9. The 8th will be very competitive as it was this year. These teams return alot next season and should be favorites Oldham North Oldham Walton Owen I think these 4 are favorites but these teams are sleepers South Odlham Collins Gallatin Simon
  10. They have only been playing those 7 guys as of late, I think #23 got in with the game out of reach with Pendleton. Is #12 still playing? Against Scott County this year he was great on defense. #11 does his job well he will have to score at Rupp I promise. Daniels is a beast! Golden sunrise is he being looked at by anyone college wise? Rogers defintely makes them go inside and Stenzel shoots the eyes out.
  11. Well watching both teams, I will say that Oldham has some size and atheltes as well, I think that it will be a good game. Clark has lost some players #23 and #12 and are olny play 7 guys. I wonder if #11 can score for them? I think Oldham can spread them out and beat them off the dribble, question is can Oldham rebound with Clark, if they do it will be intersting game. Either way if Eastern is in game 2 for Clark, how will they handle pressure, the games I have seen them lose, Ballard and Henry Clay for example they did not handle it well!
  12. Not happening it will be a good game, if Clark is so good this would not be their first rodeo with this group. Wonder how they will handle Oldham's athleticism at the guard position, and Oldham has some big kids of their own. Should be a good game! Oldham lost to the 5A state champs from Florida in an ugly game expect that kind of game, and I would think that Oldham's schedule was pretty tough Trinity, Bullitt East, Florida 5A Champs, Louisville Central, Louisville Seneca, South Oldham, North Oldham, DeSales, Mercer County,Woodford I saw that Clark's schedule was brutal as well, but that does not matter now, its Sweet 16 time!
  13. Oldham has beat most of those teams this past summer, and the 8th gets no credit, they are for sure better than some of those teams. Some where in Christmas tournaments that Oldham was in like Perry Central for example and Oldham made the final where PC went 2-2. The 9th is down this year. amd Bullitt East beat Oldham by 3, Oldham missed a shot down 1 with 3 seconds left in that game. They also were without 2 starters against B.East, always like how people rank these teams when they have never seen them play
  14. Yes there is some places I would think, but some of the gyms would have to empty and re-pay for second game like some other regions do.
  15. Record and the competition they play is not the best in the world either. He works his butt off every game and is a great kid, he would be great to have on your team, but on some teams in the 8th he would not be a starter, as some of the other kids that have been mentioned as well. Have to agree with some of the other posts in that their record does not help him much. Eminence has a player that is pretty good and I thought Henry has several that could of made it, it is unfortunate that some of them will not make it, I know that some of them however will be on the All Conference Team I am sure.
  16. Guys unforunately there is a limit to the All 8th region team, they are several that may have deserved to be on there, truth is that it is a great list of players, several that will play college basketball. When voting it is done by the players, and their coaches make recommendations for who makes it and who they want voted for. With that being said David Levitch is another good player that did not make it and also Jack Sherry. Someone said that those teams that are the big boys had alot that make it, and that is true but they are simply a little better than the other players and well deserved. Good list of fine young men. There is maybe two players that you could move out and rearrange with some other players but that is generally the case every year.
  17. With North losing some seniors I dont know if they can ever get him the ball where they need to, most of their offense does not involve him and that is unfortunate, in AAU ball where teams just play he is nearly unstoppable. This was a very disappointing year so far for North unless they can some way beat South tonight which I dont see happening. Devon should have been player of the year this season and it just did not happen because of not getting the ball, and guards not handling pressure. POY well deserved by Logan from Spencer
  18. Going with the Old man from Anderson to coach his way to the region, I think Spencer is definitely the favorite but the style of play will keep it close and I have a feeling Anderson wins it some way
  19. Tonight will not show much, Clark is better for sure, BUT they also was last year!
  20. Better beat Mason and Rowan first. Scott could be a tough match up as well. Clark has played a brutal schedule and it should pay off for them!
  21. Simon is very good, they have not been healthy all year, I would put them in the mix! Definitely be careful with Old Jon Jones and the Wildcats, with Spencer also looking to wear the slipper
  22. Colonels have not had All region player Kerry Smith last 3 games including Gallatin due to injury I have heard
  23. And the Litkenhouse ratings are unfair! This is the same in our district and it is horrible! There are much easier ways to do it and it allows the teams to decide it unlike the LIT
  24. Bullitt East beat Oldham at Oldham, by 4. Oldham was missing 2 starters and had a shot with 10 seconds left for the lead and win. Lets not be so tough on the 8th region yet, Spencer is better than they showed, most of the time games are about match ups. Spencer plays zone and Bullitt East shoots the lights out!
