Owen County 2011/2012
365 days a year replied to gold sunrise's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Watched them again this summer, and saw the same weaknesses as the year before. They hate pressure and can not handle the ball well enough to limit their turnovers. Oldham, North Oldham, South Oldham, and Collins are better than they are and with 3 of them being at the regional tourney I think they better shoot for the ALL A, but for whatever reason Coach Jones beats them as they did last year in the district tournament. They beat them by pressing for 32 minutes and Owen does not handle that well. They defintely could be a dangerous team, winning 3 in a regional tournament is really tough, and they did not make the dance last year. They do host the districts this year and will be the #1 seed I think. Walton will be dangerous in the ALL A tourney as they beat Owen last season twice I think. -
North Oldham 31 Oldham County 20

Oldham lost most of last years team and loses alot again this year. They will struggle in 6A. Don't see them ever competing. Middle school has not won a game past 2 seasons. North has a better team and they knew it that's why they scheduled oldham and dodged them up till now -
Danville Job Open?
365 days a year replied to PurplePride92's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
The players have said that they were told it was a former NBA player? Some noticed him in the building I dont know how true this to be of course. I know Coach Bottoms talked with them, he was told he would know in a couple weeks?? -

Not for sure that it is a done deal, I know that he was 90% sure he was wanting and going to take the position. This late in the game getting a coach like Ronnie is a homerun for Danville. It would make that district rivalries even more interesting -

Coach Bottoms is going to get this position I would think. Great hire for Boyle -

Coach Bottoms has his own business and does not teach so that would be convenient for Danville. Coach Springate does teach PE and could fill that spot for Yates. -
Highlands 2011/2012
365 days a year replied to gold sunrise's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
A couple years back I am pretty sure that Louisville Central won the state championship in football and took Holmes to OT in a game that they could of won in regulation at the state tourney basketball championship. I think at Christmas their record was something like 0-12. Christian County had several off this years team that played football as well. It did not seem to hurt Highlands when they had Smith and Lorenzon? Winning rubs off to other sports programs, the coaches have to work together and kids have to be dedicated. It seems as if Highlands wins a football championship every year and their basketball has struggled. Coaches can make it work and when they do everyone prospers. -

Who will get the Montgomery County job?
365 days a year replied to gold sunrise's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I know that when Keith got the job last time, it was between him and Jason Holland who I think is the Head Coach at Oldham County? Wonder if they have contacted him. I know he loves Coach Rison, -
Who will get the South Laurel job?

Poor South Laurel, drug their feet this whole process and now their players will suffer not having a summer under their belt. Your best coach is now at your cross town rival. Now you see why their was not much interest in the job. Its hard to speculate who the new coach will be, but whoever it is better be ready fro scrutiny from day 1. -
Georgetown Team Camp?
365 days a year replied to SportsGuy41017's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Montogomery also looked really good and could win the 10th if they can shoot it 3 games in a row, they had Scott beat and lost in OT. -
Georgetown Team Camp?
365 days a year replied to SportsGuy41017's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I was impressed with several teams at Georgetown this week, some teams were playing with out their normal guys but looked impressive. Oldham won Varsity B with their JV guys, Bullitt East played without Willis and still looked great, Oldham played with out PG and looked impressive as well, Eastern played only a day but can be very dangerous again this season. Perry Central should win the 14th, Scott won Varsity A but looked down for a Scott County Team, I watched some of the younger middle school teams play and Oldham and Pikeville should have bright futures. Great camp as always by Happy and staff! -

Morrow resigns at J Town

Maybe not a chance but he was contacted I have been told, not alot coming in the lower classes for the Mustangs as they will probably start 4 seniors, could be a pre-season favorite in the 8th region, but after that they lose alot of talent. -

Good question everyone thinks Sizemore, but will attract some huge names I would think Seneca has hired Brad Frasier, and Louisville Moore went with Shed Jones, -
9th Region in boys BB in 2011
365 days a year replied to Mr. Sixer's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Easy now they have never ran the 8th region They have a lot of young talent I will give them that and I love their guards but ruling the 8th come on now. -
Also part of the reason why this program has not competed for a regional title in some time. Administration is a large part in having a successful program, 2 coaches in 3 years? or something like that and now dragging your feet with summer quickly apporaching!
-
Nobody is coming back in they are restarting the interview process, accepting new applicants! Good luck whoever gets it, they have lots of young talent but obviously they have no structure or school leadership, which as we know plays a huge role in your success
-
They brought a coach back, he turned it down, they brought in one of the assistants at Lex Catholilc, I guess they were not happy with that and now are re-starting the whole process again, so now you understand what the problem is in Fayette .
