  1. With the loss of their best player from last season (Sorrell) , and getting knocked out by Owen in the regional tourney I would say they struggle early and improve toward the end of the season. Chambers is fun to watch play!
  2. After watching them this summer they could be the team to beat, and most of the coaches I have talked with have them at pre-season #1. They looked incredibly stronger and faster, and got some production from a lot of different people. Absolutely right in Holland's teams get lots better, this one seemed to do it quickly. They were getting better at the end of the year, looking forward to watching this district this year.
  3. Mustangs would have been the team to beat, but with a coaching change and the loss of Foley I would say a district counter part will be a little better. They have some great players in Levitch, Rowan and Steinfeld but really struggle guarding any one, watched them this summer and it was a struggle for them at times. Great coach coming in but transition is tough!
  4. Eminence had a good showing in the Varsity B level. They are getting better under Coach Nethery, very young players but they have some talent. Cooper got better as the week went on they got beat 30 by Oldham the first day at camp but also beat the team that won the camp. Good showing by Oldham County and Louisville Eastern, they were in a battle the night before with Eastern winning by 2. Great competition at the camp and another good job by Old Happy!
  5. That would be Norman Dale, the famous head coach of Hickory in Hoosiers!
  6. Definitely a great hire for North with Coach Henley. The transfers would not be leaving because of that, I think it is internal issues, mostly parents.
  7. We are hearing that alot of the players at North are transferring to other schools?
  8. Best atheletes does not mean best team! Just ask Ballard and Scott County:ylsuper
  9. You are right on with Spencer, they return evryone, if they are wanting to get better they have to make their schedule a little tougher and play in some competitive Christmas Tourneys. Making it to the region is a definite possibility but they have not been there in a long time, handling that makes it a tough task. One of the reasons I thought that Shelby won the 8th this year. They were more experienced in the final than South. When the 4th quarter rolled around Shelby was calm, and South paniced.
  10. Simon Kenton, Oldham, North Oldham, and Gallatin return alot. Oldham returns everyone, Simon lost Sorrell, North lost Foley, Gallatin lost Jones but has several good young players. Also Owen returns some good players, along with Walton Verona. Wide open region next year.
  11. What about Hicks not attending either Shelby school? 8th region as a whole should be wide open next season.
  12. Tough district does not help them either. Lincoln has a great middle school group coming at all 3 levels from what I am hearing, Danville will be a threat to win the region this year, and Boyle has made some huge steps at being a region contender again. Whoever takes this job will have struggle for a while but will be able to put thier program ideas into place. They will have to be patient, and understand that Rome was not built in a day. They got a new superintendent and he is very supportive of teams and coaches!
  13. Here is what alot of us on here do not understand. Coach Kinmon did a great job at Grant and every year they were upset. He was coach of the year last year and that is voted on by his peers in the 8th region. So it is hard obviously to please people at Grant. When Coach Kinmon took an administration position at the school almost 5 months ago, it would have been nice to at least have some coaches in mind by the state tournament and a hire made by now. Almost all of the other schools have made their hires. It makes coaches that might have had interest in the job maybe pull their name and wonder what the administration is after. Young coaches must be given a shot at some point. I guess the coach at Butler was to young this year?
  14. It is official and will be in the Oldham Era tomorrow from what I am hearing. Another coach that interviewed was called this morning and was informed that Henley had been chosen.
  15. If Coach Anderson has truly taken the job, then Boyd hit a grand slam. Great coach and a better person!!
  16. Maybe part of the problems at Grant County are what we are seeing in the hiring process, administration should have already made this decision to give the new coach a chance to be at open gyms, to finalize his schedule and to set up the summer. Walton and Simon will both be good next year, they can not be wasting time if they want to maximize their season.
  17. We are hearing that it could be a 12th region coach that is looking to get into the Lexington area?
  18. Nice Job! That is what we are hearing in the 9th. Have also heard a coach from Louisville is a candidate.
  19. Believe it is in regards to a 9th region coach with a state championship under his belt. Would that be correct Mr. Colonel Mike?
  20. Thanks I had forgotten Cody's name. Great showing at the regional game until he was injured. There is the Dunbar kid from Spencer County and they have nice two guard as well.
  21. Devon Rowan North Oldham Daryl Hicks Shelby/Martha Lane Kerry Smith Oldham Dylan Fields South Oldham Williams Owen County Point Guard from Simon Kenton I can not remember his name, but very good underclassmen. All of these with the exception of Fields are all underclassmen. The 8th region has some good young talent. These are just some off the top of my head.
