Wonder how they will handle Oldham's athleticism at the guard position, and Oldham has some big kids of their own. Should be a good game! Oldham lost to the 5A state champs from Florida in an ugly game expect that kind of game, and I would think that Oldham's schedule was pretty tough Trinity, Bullitt East, Florida 5A Champs, Louisville Central, Louisville Seneca, South Oldham, North Oldham, DeSales, Mercer County,Woodford I saw that Clark's schedule was brutal as well, but that does not matter now, its Sweet 16 time!

Oldham has beat most of those teams this past summer, and the 8th gets no credit, they are for sure better than some of those teams. Some where in Christmas tournaments that Oldham was in like Perry Central for example and Oldham made the final where PC went 2-2. The 9th is down this year. amd Bullitt East beat Oldham by 3, Oldham missed a shot down 1 with 3 seconds left in that game. They also were without 2 starters against B.East, always like how people rank these teams when they have never seen them play

Yes there is some places I would think, but some of the gyms would have to empty and re-pay for second game like some other regions do.

Record and the competition they play is not the best in the world either. He works his butt off every game and is a great kid, he would be great to have on your team, but on some teams in the 8th he would not be a starter, as some of the other kids that have been mentioned as well. Have to agree with some of the other posts in that their record does not help him much. Eminence has a player that is pretty good and I thought Henry has several that could of made it, it is unfortunate that some of them will not make it, I know that some of them however will be on the All Conference Team I am sure.

Guys unforunately there is a limit to the All 8th region team, they are several that may have deserved to be on there, truth is that it is a great list of players, several that will play college basketball. When voting it is done by the players, and their coaches make recommendations for who makes it and who they want voted for. With that being said David Levitch is another good player that did not make it and also Jack Sherry. Someone said that those teams that are the big boys had alot that make it, and that is true but they are simply a little better than the other players and well deserved. Good list of fine young men. There is maybe two players that you could move out and rearrange with some other players but that is generally the case every year.

With North losing some seniors I dont know if they can ever get him the ball where they need to, most of their offense does not involve him and that is unfortunate, in AAU ball where teams just play he is nearly unstoppable. This was a very disappointing year so far for North unless they can some way beat South tonight which I dont see happening. Devon should have been player of the year this season and it just did not happen because of not getting the ball, and guards not handling pressure. POY well deserved by Logan from Spencer

Going with the Old man from Anderson to coach his way to the region, I think Spencer is definitely the favorite but the style of play will keep it close and I have a feeling Anderson wins it some way

Tonight will not show much, Clark is better for sure, BUT they also was last year!

Simon is very good, they have not been healthy all year, I would put them in the mix! Definitely be careful with Old Jon Jones and the Wildcats, with Spencer also looking to wear the slipper

Colonels have not had All region player Kerry Smith last 3 games including Gallatin due to injury I have heard

And the Litkenhouse ratings are unfair! This is the same in our district and it is horrible! There are much easier ways to do it and it allows the teams to decide it unlike the LIT

Bullitt East beat Oldham at Oldham, by 4. Oldham was missing 2 starters and had a shot with 10 seconds left for the lead and win. Lets not be so tough on the 8th region yet, Spencer is better than they showed, most of the time games are about match ups. Spencer plays zone and Bullitt East shoots the lights out!

Anderson is the clear cut favorite until someone proves they can beat them, remember you have to win 3 tough games in a row and the others show alot of incosistency compared to Anderson. Really think that they are 4-5 teams that can beat each other any night but being inconsistent does not win you regions just games in the regular season.

I would put Oldham in the top 25 after watching them, they have beaten a couple of the teams that are in top 15, and lost to 3 of the top 20! Anybody form the 12th in the top 25 is a joke!

8th region guys are pretty solid, if Im not mistaken they call most of the state tourney finals! I know at least 6-8 guys that call college basektball.

Nobody from the 8th? The Oldham's are better than at least some of those teams.

Very impressive for the Coaches at South, they are a great group of guys as well. They have did a tremendous job over the last couple years, would it not be nice of South and Oldham where as one! How good could they be? Thanks for the info Colonel Mike!

Lets look at Christmas tourney's for example, with even last year's Dragons, they won both tourney's did it prepare them for winnign the region? Last time I checked they have not ever won a region?? They play a weak schedule when they have a chance to play some better teams. Yes they play J-town, that one big game a year does not prepare you for winning 3 in March. I think they played the Asutrailian JV/Freshmen team last night, won by 40 and had starters on the floor in the 4th?? Their first tough game this year will be Friday, not saying they will not win but it will go a long way in how I feel about some teams that play a weak schedule every year and dont get the results they want in March. They played at Western Hills, and the HCITfor Christmas. Where did Simon and Oldham play for example. They were in the Republic Bank and the AIT. Only time will tell, but if we look at the past, the results don't lie!

Colonels win this one, play a tougher schedule and are battle tested! Even though South lost 8 seniors, they have 8 on this team so that is very misleading, I'm not sure but I think Oldham only has 3-4 seniors on their team. Will be a great game to watch! Does anyone know the format for determining this ranking? I know some districts that go to this thing for a tie and whoever is higher gets the higher seed. I know some teams that are ahead of others that are a joke. One in particular that plays a cupcake schedule and gets wins and beats some of these small schools by 40, aggravates the crap out of me to see them ahead of a 3 loss team that has lost to 3 top 20 teams??

I think that it is Simon, or one of the Oldham's to lose. Oldham, Simon, and North play hard schedules, I know that Oldham has played 5 ranked teams, and North is in the Gaslight this week. Simon is at the AIT, so all are playing competition. Spencer's schedule a good JV team could win 20 games, not a way to prepare to win the 8th. They got a good team and a shot like a couple more teams, but that schedule will hurt them down the road. South same story, for years they want to win 20 games and that does not prepare your team for winning the region. Playing 1 hard team at home does not cut it.
