I would point out that Beechwood who just got eliminated in the district tournament by Holy Cross 3 to 1 in eight innings could have had two more players nominated. Pitcher Stacey Rengering had 19 or 20 wins this year including 3 over Holy Cross and 2 over Newport and a couple over Holmes too, and rock solid first baseman Raquel Barry, who delivered clutch hit after clutch hit. Congratulations to all the award winners, and to the organizers of this fine event for the girls!

Weird year. Both Conner and Cooper are hard to figure out. Conner just beat Boone County and Notre Dame last week. Cooper plays well against some teams on days and then not on others. They shut out St. Henry. Got shut out by Beechwood, and now play Conner tough giving away the game in the end. My head is going to explode. Glad I am not coaching either of these teams. Has got to be frustrating. Having said that I think both Coach Isaacs and her staff and Coach Koors and her staff both do A+ work. Is the Coach of Conner related to the Catcher for Cooper? I think they have the same name, but may spell it differently.

I would agree. Usually starts being discussed by the losing coach down 4 or 5 runs.

I mean this was the most perfect response ever in the history of BGP. Coaches mention it to try to get an advantage and basically to mess with the pitchers carma and psyche.

Win a district game and go to the Region and then you will join the big boys teams. Until then you are in quest of what CovCath, Holy Cross, Holmes, Highlands, NCC, Dixie, Beechwood, Boone County, Conner, Ryle, Lloyd, Bellevue, Newport, St. Henry, Ludlow and Villa Madonna have all already done. Waiting on the Jags...

Here are the facts. Your basketball team has qualified for the region. Your football team went to the state championship game in 5A. Your baseball team has qualified for the region tournament-never. that is a fact. I don't need a hug, a game or anything else. You all are begging and have a d-1 pitcher. without question you should be in the region this year. if you are, then maybe you will get to play Beechwood. Plenty of teams around-call one of them-you might be playing later today.

Let them play Dixie's Freshman team. Cooper needs games and wins apparently.

Bingo! That shouldn't be the goal. It should be qualifying for the Region tourney.

I can assure you Beechwood isn't afraid of Cooper. Call Bellevue-you all seem to have a good relationship with them. Or Lloyd, or Highlands. You can only play so many games, and with Beechwood winning the all "A" state, it added more games to their schedule. this happens all the time in baseball and softball. If I was a 5A school, I would be scheduling up anyway, not down. Maybe Anderson in Ohio has an opening.

More teams in this tournament Veritas...different people have the ball. Takes a total team effort, and you have to have some good fortune on your side. 100+ teams in this tournament. 32 in football. That alone makes it much more difficult.

Way to go Tigers....tougher to win than a football crown that is for certain.

Nice tournament and well run. Congratulations to the winning Beechwood Tigers-couldn't have said that a few years ago for sure. Congrats also to a tough Bath County Squad and to Holmes and Pendleton County. Beautiful day for softball (wish every day was like this one) and again great job Pendleton County on putting on a great tourney for a great cause and to the Beechwood Tigers of Coach Fields for bringing home the hardware.
