Ended up being a perfect day for softball with a large crowd there all day. Eight teams competed in the tournament (Pendleton County A, Calvary Christian, Williamstown, Bath County, Beechwood, Pendleton County B, Paris, and Holmes). Not sure on the final totals, but we raised a nice amount to help battle a horrid disease.

Scores:

Pendleton A 11 Calvary Christian 10

Bath Co. 6. Paris 4

Beechwood 15 Pendleton B 0

Holmes 7 Paris 5

Williamstown 15 Calvary 0

Paris 22 Pendleton B 1

Bath County 19 Pendleton A 2

Beechwood 4 Holmes 3

Paris 5. Williamstown 3 (5th place game)

Calvary 22 Pendleton B 7 (7th place game)

Holmes 15 Pendleton A 2 (3rd place game)

Beechwood 11 Bath County 6 (Championship)

I just wanted to thank everyone who attended or helped in any way today. Proud of my 2 teams (my JV squad played as a late stand-in), and hope to see everyone and more back next year.!

Nice tournament and well run. Congratulations to the winning Beechwood Tigers-couldn't have said that a few years ago for sure. Congrats also to a tough Bath County Squad and to Holmes and Pendleton County.

Beautiful day for softball (wish every day was like this one) and again great job Pendleton County on putting on a great tourney for a great cause and to the Beechwood Tigers of Coach Fields for bringing home the hardware. Great job Hannah Wheat, Sierra Whitfield, Claudia Carr, Stacy Rengering, Katherine Kremer, Casey Grant, Lili (sp) Sergeant, Raquel Barry, Amy Lee, and all the players and coaches!!

Shame I didn't know another BGP member was there. Always like meeting new folks!

Except for me. :lol2:

Dawg, sounds like you and your folks put on one hell of a tournament. You couldn't ask for a nicer day and glad to see the Beechies bring home the championship. IMO, we need more tournaments like this.

I know, right? Here we are with a few weeks left into the season, and still haven't met up.

I appreciate the kind words. We really enjoy putting this event on for such a good cause. Thinking about a different format for next year with a gold/silver division and get some bigger teams involved.

In due time.

This sounds like a great idea. :thumb:

The list of "bigger teams" that I'd love to get would include NCC!

This was a very nice tournament. Weather was perfect. Bath County has a very nice team. In their game against Pendleton, they pitched a young lady (maybe 7th grader I'm guessing) who threw her first varsity game, which was a no hitter (runs scored on errors). Bath also had a catcher who absolutely crushed the ball all day.

Impressed with Beechwood squad, well coached, solid fundamental and played a great game against Bath in the finals.

LCDAWG, there was probably more than one BGP'er out there yesterday, you just never know who they are !

Solid pitcher. We put several balls in play, just nothing that fell for a hit.
