Solid A. Just one loss in the regular season and a very tough schedule. Add to that, whipping a very strong opponent in the finals earns the Pirates a solid A, imo.

I think I would give the Panthers a solid A as well. They did stumble twice in the regular season. However, what many people don't know is they were not 100% healthy in the first Paintsville contest (no excuse ) but fact. Also, how many football teams go into Belfry and come out victorious, and a single A team at that? They met the goal that was set in early 2015, and that is the single A trophy. Solid A.

This hire just may be what the Phelps football program needs to stay alive. Better days just may be ahead for Phelps football.

Look for Pikeville to take on Russellville in 1-A. Pikeville repeats. will be strong again. It will be Mayfield again in 2 -A In 3-A, no brainer. Belfry again. The 4-A winner? South Warren. Bowling Green in 5-A. In 6-A, should be Male, or Trinity. I'll take the Shamrocks.

Where's any ugliness? Just trying to put the "what ifs" to rest, and showing facts. Nothing but respect for the Beechwood program, always have. Just got outplayed this time around.

Lol! If you want to use that excuse, our QB, who is only15 through three tds on your defense so that theory is out the door. Then, if you want to consider our starting OT was out mid season forward . Would he have scored tds? Not likely, however, he certainly would have done his part for Daric Pugh, and other backs to score. The fact is, the coaching staff took up the slack by replacing him. Also consider one of our Wr was out with an injury. would he have scored points and done his part? Very likely. The point is, it's a Beechwood problem. Pikeville adjusted to those discrepancies through the remainder of the season, and went on to win the 1-A championship. Some of you Beechwood fans can whine and make excuses from now til next season and beyond. Pikeville lined up and played what was put in front of them and won. These are the facts.

On defense, I would add the Charles brothers; Cody & Blake, all over the place.

True. Pikeville will lose Daric Pugh to graduation, but what I saw out Blake Charles in this game was more impressive than I've seen all season. Noticed where coaching staff utilized him more in the running game the last few contests. Reminds me a lot of the Hatfield RB at Belfry last season.

The one thing that impressed me about Daric Pugh is, he dedicated himself tremendously every day, both physically and mentally He "attacked" the weight room to get better daily. when interviewed on media day, he stated he had one goal, and he fulfilled that goal last night at WKU.

As a Pikeville fan, i think the game would have been very close with stringer in , however I do believe Pikeville would have won anyway. Jmo.

Paintsville had a fantastic season, and Kash is a fantastic player. Myself, I wish he hadn't been injured for his sake, and he could have played. Imo,it would have really put this Panther team to the test as he would have made a difference, but not a nineteen point difference. I can understand why whoever made the decision. I suppose it's like a matter of choice, don't play and preserve your career at UK, or go ahead and play, and receive a mister football award, and risk your career. Regardless, it's water under the bridge now as Big Melon said. Panthers are pumped and focused on Beechwood now. Going to be a great game like it should between old rivals.

Your right about one thing Blue Bird. We'll never know. Everyone's got their opinion about things......you do . Pikeville fans do. If/when Pikeville wins this game, maybe things will be made more clear for you. Then you can let it go.

Mariah's has always been a good choice for me and my family/friends. Olive Garden has always had good food/service/atmosphere. One of the better restaurants in their chain,imo.

Totally agree Westside. A lot of history between the two. When these two played in the semi finals, each school would always bring a HUGE crowd, and much anticipation like we're seeing now.

True. And guess who's been intercepting most of those passes? Soph. QB Wyatt Battaile. He's got the height, speed, quickness, field vision to have done a good job this season. Chattlin Jarrell, Clay Slone, and Mickey McDonald, all have done well at interceptions this season as well. Lol! Beechwood to start passing right out the gate, might not be too bad of a game plan /

By being only an hour from BG, will head up Thursday for the Pikeville/Beechwood game. Then watch the Friday, and Saturday games on KHSAA web site. Will drive back Sunday to watch Belfry--Lex Cath.

Not seen any posts on this site, or the other where anyone has made any comments about a running clock in this game. That would be totally insane to even think that. Panther fans feel good about this team, and think our chances are good to bring home the title. First appearance in twenty four years, so yes we are excited; but again, that statement has not been made by any Pikeville fan. Sounds more like hype or rumor to me. Not much difference between the two imo..

Kash Daniel is one fine athlete. Had he played against Pikeville, he would have made a difference, I'm sure. But NO, not a 19 point difference. The Panthers could have put up another six, or seven points in this game as they were driving the ball down field, but chose not to, and just took a knee. You got to remember too, Pikeville had Paintsville beat in the first game, but handed it to them. Pikeville has the weapons this year to win it all, and I believe they will. Jmo.
