Pikeville's Daric Pugh

Featured Replies

I was very impressed with him tonight, he is a stud. Anyone care to share any Daric Pugh stories?

Great job tonight Daric, it will be one of the fondest memories of your lifetime.

All I know is over the past two years only three games has a Runningback eclipsed the century mark on Belfry when the Pirates had both of their stud DT's

Once was this past weekend with the French kid who made hay late.

Cabell Midland, who was simply a bear, did it.

The only other time was Daric Pugh... and he earned every single yard that game by punishing Belfry with his physicality and forward lean.

If Pugh played for a larger school or somewhere in Central KY you may be talking about him in the Mr. Football discussion. Plays the game the right way and always initiates contact

Pugh and Jones from Hazard were two very good backs and was fun watching those two on the same field.

That young man was very impressive tonight...Wow!

Rare combination of size and breakaway speed. Reminded me a lot of Chase Richardson for JC a couple years ago. Played possibly his biggest game on the biggest stage. Congrats to him and his teammates.

Expected nothing less in tonight's game from D. Pugh! Pheonomal athlete! Congrats To Pugh!!

Thanks for sharing ATL, what a high school football player!

I was really impressed with him last night. He hits the hole at full speed and you better tackle him low or you'll be taking a ride. The kid definitely abused Beechwood last night.

As a Mayfield fan, I'm glad we moved up to 2a this year.. Pikeville was a solid team and Pugh was a man amongst boys..

I played high school ball with Daric's father Darrell. He was a bruising fullback at Paintsville when he played.

Stud, hard worker, great football player and great kid.

He was as I thought from the film except one thing ... faster than expected. He doesn't look fast, but as I was watching film no one was catching him, so I started to wonder. Then last night when Slusher did not catch him on the late TD run, that made it clear the big boy has really good speed too. A high school John Riggins. Straight ahead power plus speed. Very impressed with him.

Pugh has won the 100 meters in the 15th region the past two years time was 11.4? to qualify for state pulled hamstring in 200 meters to keep him from competing

Got to say, I was very impressed. BW could not tackle him high, and rarely hit him low. Will be a solid LB at the next level.
