  1. I heard ND didn't have a training table for the athletes before BK got there??? If true, that could be a MAJOR reason why the "big uns" didn't develop. Proper diet helps retain and gain weight that is needed to battle in the trenches...especially during the season.
  2. BK was great for UC! Played his politics superbly. He had to do that to elevate the program, attain recuits, get the "Jeff" practice field, etc... He is now in shark infested waters though in South Bend. The golden dome has ground up quite a few coaches. I wish him success!
  3. BK doesn't have to play "politics" anymore...he's landed his "dream job". hope it doesn't turn into a nightmare! Be careful what you wish for...you just may get it!
  4. He also has a young Donovan McCoy pushing him!
  5. Does Ty Seidel of Highlands play OLB? He might be a DB, but is ALWAYS around the ball with BIG hits. The kid is flatout a playmaker!
  6. OUTSTANDING! Cammo has had a stellar career at Highlands and will no doubt continue his success at the Mount. Good to see him overcome the coaching of his FTJFL (the deposed DMZ76, BirdBrain, and the omnipotent LN) LOL! An impressive young man from an equally impressive family. Congrats to Cam, Jim & Jackie, the rest of the Dierig clan, teammates, and coaches! Roar, Lions, ROAR!
  7. I heard rumours that Andy Miller is returning to FB for NCC. He very well could end up as QB...and doing VERY well there!
  8. :jump::thumb::banana::notworthy::clap::dancingpa:lol:
  9. I'd send my kid to play for Bob Huggins ANYTIME, ANYWHERE !!
  10. Dick Enberg was the BEST when he was on top of his game....this tourney he reminded me of Willie Mays falling down trying to get out of the batter's box in his final year. Best of luck to DE...OH MY!!
  11. Not too wild about WVU...but I can't root against Hugs!!
  12. Anybody think Patterson could make it a s a TE in the NFL? Size, hands, feet, arms....unsure of speed.
  13. Throwing the ball is over rated! Y'all ain't squat if the WR doesn't catch it!! EASY all you pretty boy QB's.......it's just a JOKE!! Jeeeez!
  14. Congrats to Tyler and his family!! Tyler stepped up and contributed mightily to the recent Bluebird run of State Championships. TMC got themselves a great kid...on and off the field!
  15. Central Michigan? UC? How do they keep swapping talent?? LOL! Good Luck to Gino!
  16. Standout offensive lineman, Hunter Schlosser, is reported to have committed to Centre College. Hunts had an outstanding career at HHS helping the Birds to three State 5A championships and garnering many post season accolades, including a spot on the KY Border Bowl team. Apples don't fall far from the tree, they say, as his father Jeff Schlosser, All State OL/LB at HHS back in the Stone Ages, also matriculated to Centre...as did big brother Ben, another HHS star player. Hunter's mother, Jenny, is from the storied HHS Fennell family so the bloodlines of outstanding FB talent run true. Congrats to Hunter, his family, and to Centre College...they got a good one...on and off the field!
  17. I wonder if the "other" stud former HHS QB would be interested...Gino Guidugli? I heard Henry doesn't want to coach...but she DOES want to call the plays! LOL!
  18. UC starting to get a NKY flavor! Guidugli, Slusher, Dempsey, Maniello, now West...keep it going!! Go BIG-time...stay local!! Good Luck to all!
  19. J Bird...welcome to the sight! Nice insights and opinions...please don't be shy, LOL! Do not compare this year's team to last year's (the BEST team EVER!) nor the 2007 team ( the BEST team EVER, to that point in time!). They are probably more comparable to that 2008 team (WORST O-line EVER!). 2008 had 1 returning line starter, 1 returning RB, and maybe 3 D returnees. Lots of holes, lots of questions. The coaches tinkered and toyed with lineups early in the season and lo and behold by seasons end they were hoisting the 5A trophy. I fully expect them to take this same route this year! HHS football teams are like children, you don't love one more than the other and you're proud of ALL of them! 20n10, out!
  20. I remember the same scenario....but only in the 70's!! :scared:
  21. They need a little luck...and keep their poise! They have talent! WHAT MAKES dem WILCATS WILD!! Go get 'em Big Red & Black!!
  22. ALL-RIGHT MUDDOG!!! Congrats to Tony "Pipes" Piper!! The rubber-armed ace of the Bellevue staff! Great kid, great family!!
  23. It look to me that Cam Dierig has inspired Coach Weinrich to "go small" on the D-Line this year. After the way Cam ate up that X boy last year, maybe the Bird's have found that light is right? QB's did a lot of scrambling...O-line needs to shape up (they've got ALL summer). Thought "Moose" McCoy looked really good at QB...not to take anything away from #8, he's still the bell cow! Secondary looks tight!! Birds seem to be playing eleven LB's!!
  24. Maybe, after all these years, he thought you needed the extra support for all your "chins"?? You should be offended if he gives you your old "girdle"!!:jump: I get a kick out of the announcement to "stay off the field" when the game ends. WE used to STORM the field to get lucky enough to get a chin strap...of course back then, the little league helmets had PLASTIC chin straps. So getting that Riddell strap was a real coup!!
