Highlands wins the NKY Freshman championship!!!

Cov Cath

237 total yards

23 yards rushing

22 of 36 passing for 214 yards with 1 INT.

Highlands

234 total yards

79 yards rushing

McCoy: 7 of 19 passing for 155 yards.

Highlands has a very nice team. Should help keep the ball rolling in Ft. Thomas.

Congrats to the Frosh Birds!

This should be quite a battle for the next 3 years. CCH's team on paper reminds me so much of the 06' Champ team on paper when they were freshman, and Highlands is skilled everywhere as well.

Don't think either team played their best game tonight, but it was still entertaining.

Nice passing numbers for both Qbs.

The difference in the game, to me, was the running ability of HHS QB, Donovan "Moose" McCoy. Lots of nice athletes out there on both sides tonite. The rivalry lives!!!!!

The Bir kid throws a nice ball...I see McCoy lining up at lb for the next 3 years....Great job Birds!!!!!

How about the shot #49 Brandon Lawry laid on that Cov Cath player in the 2nd qtr? OH MY!!!

Two very good teams and someone had to lose. Congrats to both teams as they both have a lot of good speed and play good defense. This should be a very good rivalry over the next few years as the JV score was very close as well and both teams have nice Junior High players coming up the ranks.

Could he be the second coming of The Hefty Lefty?

Is that Lawry kid one of the 2 8th Graders on the Birds? I know True is the other. He batted a couple of Bir's passes down with his height at DE.
