  1. Bingo! ...with apologies to the "Dean of Death Valley" aka LN
  2. To beat that same dead horse...the sled is a GREAT tool to get the line firing off in unison. It, however, doesn't do anything to help footwork technique (pulling, trapping, snapping, double-team, etc...). If they're rotating backs to the valley, they could rotate centers to the turf, no? And the QB's need to be comfortable recieving the snaps. OK, I'm done...on to a new, live horse!
  3. you're correct...there would be no one directly over them in a non-contact situation. Probably not much value for the lineman or the QB. Better to have them flipping a huge tire or playing tug-o-war with a towel. 20n10.
  4. Not that I would EVER doubt the tactics of NCOY Dale Mueller, BUT the footwork/technique of a center stepping as he snaps AND getting the snap back correctly would be imperative to the start of a play wouldn't it? Maybe, he thinks "mis-snaps" would impair the 7on7 flow for the "skill guys". JMHO. 20n10!
  5. Did HHS use a center? I know the last couple years they didn't and it always puzzled me. I think it's a great opportunity to hone the exchange, especially when incorporating a new/different center or QB. Plus it gives a "truer" look/feel for the QB.
  6. Geez...it's a 7on7...EXPECT QB's to throw picks...that's why it's called practice! Cincy X's Massa and Moeller's Hendrix both threw picks in 7on7's at Highlands last year...both got scholly's to the "Golden Dome". Air it out, bay-bee!
  7. I thinks it's GREAT that Abner was named pre-season POY! Congrats to him! I'm sure he'd rather be 20n10, though. BUT, it's great publicity for him. He got "noticed" for his work..we all like that, don't we? Now, he has to back it up...which I'm sure he'll do! AND it's very helpful in getting recruited. Again, CONGRATS to Austin! 20n10...out!
  8. Can anyone post the 20n10 schedule for me? Gotta plan for the fall!
  9. I do remember that the line..er...didn't play their best game that night...LOL! One play...pitch sweep...the OT never got out of his stance and the RB got punished! I just loved the quote due to those SR.s being sandwiched between HHS' 2 "best classes ever" !! 20n10 !!
  10. Hey, I hope this O-line is "the worst HHS o-line, EVER!"...we know how THAT group turned out! wink, wink!! LN hit the nail on the head in a previous post...there ARE questions to both lines as there has been a quantity/quality group move on with graduation. As to the "where's Waldo" question...he's a very dedicated, hard working individual...in and out of the classroom...the kind of kid that Coach T works magic with. I heard he used the "dead period" time to go to camps and got some notice/attention on the defensive side of the ball. Would just seem with his size/frame there would be a spot for him on one side or the other. But hey, those questions will be settled in practice...not from a no-nuttin' internet hack like me!
  11. I thought I read that Pike has already been offered by several D1 schools. Has Towles gotten any offers yet?
  12. Is there any thought to moving Jason Waldenmeyer (JR) to defensive line? Nice height/weight (6'1"-ish/220-ish)...freakishly long arms with good speed. I know he WAS at center until bumped by Senior Ryan Hahn (last year's LT). I would think Waldo's size/ability would have to be utilized somewhere...especially with all the question marks.
  13. Best wishes to Coach Rains. The LCA program is in geat hands with Coach Graham. He's a fine coach and an exemplary man!
  14. Are we REALLY going to open THAT can of worms AGAIN?[
  15. Have any of the players (Jr./Sr.) left the program? Where did they go, if they did?
  16. I believe it was quoted as "the WORST O-line EVER at HHS"....and that was after a victorious home opener against Ryle. By the way, that line has 2 players playing at the D1 level and two more at D3. Let's just say Coach T "coached 'em up"! LOL! He'll work his magic again this year!
  17. I thought Wrobleski would be a WR?? Tall, good hands, good speed, elusive....or a QB! ?
  18. I heard that early reports on the O-line look good! A couple of ex-Blue teamers from FTJFL are stepping it up! Keep up the good work Kyle Thurston and Scotty Turner! Heard the Thurston boy is a dead ringer for Adam Dempsey, former HHS all-stater...hope he follows the same footsteps!
  19. Congrats to all the kids that played in this game. Hope everyone got lots of pictures for their scrapbooks! Especially Hunter Schlosser, another in the recent run of great FTJFL Blue team linemen!! Ryan Hahn...NEXT MAN IN!!
  20. Congrats to all these fine players, their families, and coaches! All three are better people than they are players...and they are darn good players!
  21. But I heard that Ryle's water boy had higher quality H-2-O!! Plus he carries a towel! Thus, Ryle will be the district champion!....:deadhorse:
  22. I played against Coach ...but for the reason stated above, my son was denied the opportunity.
  23. WHY? Is it still wet from 1975? :irked:
