Beat Highlands/Beat CovCath

Featured Replies

Just wanted to get some opinions to see which line in the sand I am standing. I saw quite a few middle aged fans at the Highlands/CovCath Freshman football game tonight sporting Beat CovCath t-shirts. It just looked odd to me. I don't remember seeing adults wear Beat Highlands t-shirts, but maybe I just did not notice. I'm going out on a limb here and predict my son, a class of 2008 graduate of CovCath, will never wear his Beat Highlands t-shirt the rest of his life. Does anyone have a problem with adults participating in this long traditional attire?

Sorry this just really gave me a good chuckle.

I totally understand why your son would never where his t-shirt.:D

Now Henry, he was on the field backing up Josh Bleser when he beat Highlands two times in two weeks. Three if you count the JV game.

So you saw, uh, the fella that drives that big ole Chevrolet. He loves his football. Actually I saw one. And no, to each his own right?

What caught me about your statement was the MIDDLE AGED FANS with the Beat Cov. Cath. shirts.

If your sons shirt says "Beat Highlands" with no date, no I would not wear it. If it was dated as to a year they beat Highlands OK.

The t-shirts at Highlands are the same T-shirts they have been making for the last three years. By this time they are everywhere. This years version is the same on the front but has writting on the back. (the only difference).

You know how it is, times are tough, the adults are now wearing the kids hand-me-downs.:jump:

You know, I was thinking about the issue as well, you know, when you see a parent wearing clothing that the teens now adays wear - like the older women who wear things that make you say - 'wow she is trying to be young again' - and I guess I kind of equate this to that kind of situation. Are the parents who wear these shirts, trying to live thru their sons? (Something many on here I bet get accused of) I see no problem with recent alums wearing these to show school spirit and all, but I do not think any parents should join in. I think that is just plain silly

I saw quite a few more than one.

And it didn't bother me. Other fan bases should show as much school spirit as well.

My wife will tell you that I put way too much thought into seemingly trivial matters.

With that, no. I would not wear one. I picture those as being for the students to wear in the student section and around town. Heck, most kids won't wear them after they graduate.

I'm sure my wife is shaking her head.

Sounds like that is not the case in Fort Thomas

I love the one that says "Beat CovCath ".........Again. :ylsuper::ylsuper:

I must admit that that one did make me chuckle when I saw it.

Didn't I see her sporting a new pair of UGG's???

Does anyone know the record of Cov Cath V Highlands in the last 10 years? It would be interesting to see at all levels Frosh, JV and varsity if anyone knows.
