On Friday, November 14 at 7:00 p.m., the #2 seed in 1A District 3 Newport Wildcats (7-4) visit the #1 seed in 1A District 4 Covington Holy Cross Indians (11-0). This is the second round of the playoffs. The game will be played at Scott High School. Newport beat Ludlow 42-2 and Holy Cross beat Dayton 54-6 in the first round. Start the discussion.

RB Charles Oglesby ran for 76 yards on 4 carries with a TD. TE Max Hunt (4 catches for 49 yards and a TD) and WR Thomas Maddox (1 catch for 38 yards and a TD) led the receivers. For Dayton, RB Malachi Kennedy ran 11 times for 62 yards and the only Greendevils TD. Next Friday night, in the second round of the playoffs, Covington Holy Cross will host Newport (winners over Ludlow 42-2). The game will be played at Scott High School.

ESPN today was having a discussion on how far teams would go to get their "dream" quarterback (or any player like Gardner). The Jets have five first round picks in 2026 and 2027. If you were the Bengals and the Jets offered some of those picks for Joe Burrow, would you listen? How many of those picks would it take for you to pull the trigger? All five? Two? Or do you tell the Jets to shove it?

It is interesting to see how the stage of a World Series brought out the best in previously mediocre pitchers such as Henriquez and Klein for LA and Lauer for Toronto. They all pitched very well considering the circumstances and that they were viewed as "back of the bullpen".

Don't expect any work from any Toronto residents today with the game ending at 3 a.m. EDT. Longest World Series game in duration. Tied for most innings in a World Series game. Yeah, I stayed up. I was kind of hoping to see what would happen if both teams started burning starters as relievers or using position players as pitchers. It never came to that.
