On Friday, October 24 at 7:00 p.m., Covington Holy Cross (8-0) visits Ludlow (3-5).  Can Holy Cross go 3-0 in the district and remain undefeated for the season?  Does Ludlow create chaos by beating the Indians for a 3-way tie in District 4?  Start the discussion.

The tribe travels to the Lud Friday night for a district battle between Ludlow and Latonia. Who leaves the small river city with the W?

Some X-factors:

-Senior night at Ludlow

-Similar results vs Bishop Brossart (HC Win 6-3, Ludlow Loss 20-21)

-Ludlow looking for positive results after dropping a heartbreaker(with a questionable TD) to Brossart (which realistically should’ve made this game for the district championship)

-HC looking to stay unbeaten and win their first 1A District Title

I’m going Ludlow with the upset!

TurboStats GameCast for Football: Ludlow Panthers_vs_Holy Cross Indians

Covington Holy Cross achieved another physical defensive outcome tonight by dominating Ludlow 43-6 on their home turf.  The Indians defense held the Panthers to 21 yards on the ground and 82 yards in the air.  HC scores 36 points in the first half to gain the running clock going into the 3rd quarter.

Near the end of the first half, Ludlow turned the ball over on downs at the HC two yard line with 30 seconds left.  Instead of kneeling, Ferguson hit Thornberry for 74 yards.  With no time remaining, Ferguson scored from 13 yards plowing his way into the end zone.

For Ludlow, QB Jackson Mays was temporarily injured early but came back to be 6-18 for 82 yards passing and 11 carries for 39 yards.  He scored the only Panthers TD in the 3rd quarter.

Congrats to the Tribe!

Holy Cross will likely finish 10-0.  The only team that they have beaten with a winning record is Bracken County at 6-3.  That was a good win. The rest of their opponents have a combined record of 19-56.  They have a great chance to run their record to 12-0, before facing Campbellsville or Kentucky Country Day in round 3.  Are they a threat to make it to the semi-finals?

It’s kind of a crazy stat to hear. They have won a state title before, but yet this is their first district championship ever. Congrats to Holy Cross.
