Can we start a poll asking the question: Who thinks Pete Mitchell should post the preemptive appeal brief?

Highlands lost to who in 5A this year?

Are those the ones CCH (or is it just C now?) broke out for the Highlands game?

Do the football and dance teams practice together?

I'm always concerned that CovCath will start beating the Bluebirds. The latest new coach in Park Hills doesn't amplify or alleviate that concern. It seems like just last fall the decline of Highlands -- new coach, untested QB, less talent, etc -- was a concern to some. But, things worked out ok. And, I will subjectively state that Highlands fans are more objective.

Don't get new uniforms.

This year the speech was as complicated as (1) be good kids; (2) listen to you parents; and, (3) work hard at whatever you do (for example, beating Cov Cath).

I'm curious. What is Highlands supposed to do to make your changes?

I don't think its the image that intimidates other schools. It's this:

Oh, ok. Say, generally speaking, a kid named Mitch Michael wanted to play for the Sparrows because he wasn't happy playing for the Generals. And say Mitch was declared ineligible by the KHSAA, then got an order from his local elected judge (where the KHSAA usually loses anyway) saying he could play, which was later overturned on appeal say, just for drama, on the night of a big playoff game that Mitch played in, and -- hang with me for a minute more -- then the KHSAA spanked the Sparrows for abiding by the court order and letting Mitch play, despite the fact that the KHSAA -- if asked nicely -- would now say that it wouldn't smack teams for abiding by a court order. How would the KHSAA handle that general problem?

Highlands could handle the championship game. Just open up a second hamburger tent and make double the hot chocolate. They could do parking like they do for the Derby -- Let the local residents sell spots in their driveway or front yard.
