  1. :thumb::ylsuper: :thumb::ylsuper: :thumb::ylsuper: I totally agree!!!
  2. Can the Rebels beat the Raiders for a third time this year? I say they can, although, this seems to be a different Rebel team from the prior two meetings and Ryle will be on their home court. Rebels - 59 Raiders - 55
  3. Not only did they not play, they weren't on the bench and I don't think they were even at the game. It's a shame...... Time to move on and focus on the Ryle game now.
  4. I flipped a coin 100 hundred times and the results were 50/50. Did I really have to flip it 100 times to come up with that? LOL. So, at the end of regulation, the score will be tied 50 - 50. I flpped it 5 more times and it came up NCC (4 - 1). So, I will go with NCC 54 - 51 in OT.
  5. I agree. Or, I would at least have to do a double take and question if I really want to take the 'chance' that he would do the same thing in college, that is to QUIT on his team(mates). That is what it is looking like what happened in this case from the outside. However, like it was also pointed out, we DO NOT know the whole story so we shouldn't pass judgment as to the reasons why he/they are no longer on the team. Anyway, Good Luck to the Rebels over the next couple of weeks!!!
  6. Does anyone have a boxscore for this game? NCC v. Highlands tomorrow at 6pm in semis?
  7. :thumb::thumb: Good point! This will be the difference I believe in this one. Low scoring, beat each other up, physical game. Ryle 44 Conner 40
  8. Does Dayton have anyone that can stop Giesler? If not, NCC rolls..... 60 - 45.
  9. Senior night in Florence..... After reading the Dixie / Cooper thread, and Dixie coming out flat footed on Sr. Night, I'm hoping that doesn't grab the Rebels too!!! It doesn't look like Tramel played against the Jags (or, he didn't score based on the box score). Is he expected to play tonight? I'll take the Rebels bouncing back from the Holmes loss!!! Boone - 67 Dixie - 54
  10.:clap: And I am somewhat a NCC fan so we are both to blame!!! :thumb: Good stuff!!!
  11. I agree with you on the talent part with Holmes' top three players, compared to the rest of the 9th region. However, if you go with the top 7 players, I like Boones' talent. The question is does Holmes' top three provide that much of a gap compared to Boones' top 7. In my opinion, that is where the 'toss up' comes in. That's why the games they play against each other could go either way. Hence, Wednesday's game going to OT. I also think that with the style of offense that both teams run, keeps the games close and causes wins and losses to come down to possible missed shots at the end which could cause the games to go either way. Hopefully, they do meet again in the regional final at the BoK Center, last year's game was a classic!!! Perhaps, this year though the layup goes in for the Rebels!! With all that being said, both teams are good and the games they play against each other could go either way. Hence, my point that Holmes isn't 'much better' than Boone. That's all I am trying to say.
  12. Great post and analysis!!!:thumb: I agree with almost everything you put in the post. The only game I differ with is the NCC/Highlands game. I think with Grubbs out NCC pulls out the victory in a close one. However, I agree it will be a battle. I'll just go with NCC.
  13. How is this terrible logic? Tiger stated Holmes was a 'much better' team than Boone. I disagree with that statement and my point is that they just played to an OT game. The last 3 times these two teams have played the games could have gone either way. I don't understand how the statement can be made that Holmes is a 'much better' team than Boone. How else would you compare the two teams? If you go head to head, it's a toss up, if you go common opponents it's a toss up. How else would you like to compare the two teams? I think it is goofy to say that Holmes is a much better team than Boone. I know it is only Tiger's opinion, however, there is no substance supporting it. I'm just looking for 'logic' to support that opinion. What other 'logic' would you like to use?
  14. Exactly!!!! Nothing like:deadhorse: My goodness, physical and intense game. It's not like it's the first time players have banged and jawed in a basketball game before!!!
  15. Boone did take the 'much better' team to OT, didn't they? 'more talented team'? They seem pretty comparible to me. I'll take my chances with Trevan and the Boone roster in the regionals. Wasn't it Boone that won the regular season game last season only to lose in the regional final? Seems to me that if they do match up in the regionals (assuming both make it to the region) it could be a toss up. :idunno: Perhaps I am missing something here....
  16. This is a classic post!!! This is the same post that I, among others (Wildcatfan in particular) have said THIS YEAR about the Boone County coach. The style of offense that they run alllows other teams, teams without the depth and athleticism to hang around, and it eventually will jump up and grab you at some point! It has in Boone's case a couple of times this year. I agree, if you have the horses, let them run!!! However, it's hard to argue this case when both coaches and teams have been pretty successful over the past few years.
  17. Boone County 68, Ryle 61 Ryle (11-11) - Pinkston 2 1 5, Stinson 0 1 1, McLeish 5 4 17, Perkins 2 0 4, Coleman 6 3 16, Stauffer 8 2 18, Totals 23 11 61 Boone County (15-6) - Popp 1 6 8, Gabbard 3 0 6, Schulze 2 0 5, Montgomery 4 2 11, Cotton 6 0 12, Earls 4 0 8, Lay 5 0 10, Brown 4 0 8, Totals 29 8 68 Ryle 10 15 16 20 61 Boone County 13 12 21 22 68 3-pointers: R (McLeish 3, Coleman); B (Schulze, Montgomery). What was the difference in the game? Can anyone provide details? Game tied at the half, then it looks like the second half had some flow and scoring - Boone 43, Ryle 36 I wasn't at the game but it seems in the second half Boone got up and down the court a little bit more according to the box score. 8 Boone players scoring between 5 and 12 points in the game? Being led by Cotton (12) and Montgomery (11). Wow, talk about balanced scoring....
  18. Great, thanks.:thumb: So, if that happened, Ryle and Conner would be on the other side of the bracket so one of them wouldn't make the 9th region tournament, correct?
  19. Can someone explain to me why tomorrow's game between Boone v. Conner is so important in the district tournament? I'm hearing some different stories about the game. If Boone wins they get the district #1 seed and would more than likely have to play (Heritage?) in the disctrict and that win would put them in the District final so they would automatically get at regional bid regardless if they win or lose the district championship game? Does this sound somewhat correct? I would like to see what the district tournament would look like if Boone wins tomorrow and what it looks like if Conner wins tomorrow. I know there is still some games to be played and it isn't written in stone. I'm just curious on how the 33rd district tournament matches up at this point in the season.
  20. Great Pics paNDA as always!!!! You do a great job of capturing the game!!!! I sounds to me that Boone (sickness/injuries) was finally at full strength Cov. Cath. (sickness/injuries) wasn't. I don't know if the results would have changed, however, I'm sure the game would have been much more competitive. Looks like Boone had a very balanced scoring attack (4 in double figures) in this one. Hopefully, this team is coming around and can finish the season strong. Looks like Gabbard got back on track in this one as well. Let's hope they get a chance to meet again, that would mean it would be in the Regional Tournament. The goal of both teams.
  21. If you want to increase listenership... I would go with 'Bad Moon Rising' :ylsuper: to kick off the broadcast and follow it up with a little 'Midnight Special' :ylsuper: at the half. I can see the Cov. Cath. fans now :dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa Hopefully, J-man will be back in action for tomorrow nights tilt. As far as myself doing the call, I'm to quiet and reserved to step out like that. To much out of my comfort zone!!! Good luck to the Colonels and Rebels tomorrow night. It should be a good game.
  22. CovCath Radio and TheOldGuy..... No opinions/predictions? Colonel got your tongue? CCR - Will the game be broadcast via the internet? I know a lot of the parents/grandparents/fans that can't get to the games love to listen on the internet. Being a Boone County fan, I wish they had someone that was as committed as you to broadcast the games via the internet. You do a great job!!! Don't be too rough on the Rebels tomorrow night if you do broadcast the game!!! LOL.
  23. If nothing else, Cov Cath will have a hard time trying to determine who will be the Rebel who looks to score in this game. Boone, it seems, designates one scorer for each game and the rest of the team takes the night off. I would like to see Popp and Gabbard get into the score book a little bit earlier and more often and Montgomery and Brown to both put in about 15 a piece. Perhaps this is the game it all comes together for the Rebels and they 'all' show up. Boone - 60 Cov. Cath. - 54
  24. I wasn't able to make it to the last couple of games for Boone, however, I'm struggling trying to understand why Gabbard isn't scoring much at all lately. I could be off with some of my numbers. However, I believe he had 3 pts against St. Henry, 0 against Cooper and 4 against Highlands. I believe he needs to look for his shot more. There doesn't seem to be much consistency with Boone's scoring this year.... Brown had a couple games were he was getting 16 - 20 points and he scores 2 against Highlands? It looks like it may be Montgomery's turn to score. I believe this is the second straight game with 20 points (Highlands and Cooper) and to throw in 10 rebounds as well is a nice two game stretch for him. And 0 points for Popp in this game? The up and down season continues for Boone and who is scoring for them!
