  1. 3 excellent posts VOR!!!! Gielser is living up to (and surpasing) the Pre Season expectations. No doubt he is POY. I also agree that Trevan Brown is #2. He has really led the Rebels to a very good year and especially with Montgomery going down. When, and I don't know, was the last time a Rebel basketball player averaged more than 20 points a game? I'd say it has been awhile! I'm glad to see Brown finally getting some love!!! In my opinion, he has been under utilized at Boone for the past couple years.
  2. Agreed. And, I am probably one of the main culprits! If it's reality, it's for me!!!
  3. I thought the show as a whole was pretty cool. I set the DVR to record all future 'Policewomen of Cincinnati' episodes. I thought they all had pretty good personalities. I don't think the one liked being called 'baby'! Yeah, the 28 year old Grandma looked like she had been around the block a time or two. She's not aging to gracefully!
  4. Agreed. Just need to figure it.:idunno:
  5. In my opinion, SCHOOL gym time, SCHOOL qualified coaches and SCHOOL leagues. There are only so many hours in a day the gym is available for practice, qualified coaches available to coach and available leagues available. I guess an alternative to this would be to have the 'B' teams play in a SOAS league which may solve some of the issues for league and gym time. Doesn't SOAS provide an hour per week for practice?
  6. Amen Stink!!! And this does not just go for HMS but ALL middle schools!!! Very well said!! :thumb:
  7. If that rebound takes place with 7 minutes left instead of at the buzzer is the whistle blown? I say without a doubt!!! I think the refs were officating with the clock in mind and didn't want to 'determine' the outcome of the game by blowing the whistle and putting Georgia on the line to win it.. Just my opinion.
  8. Hopefully, the weather doesn't come into play on Friday, however, how big is the Cooper / Boone Co. game now? Cooper seems to be on the upswing and Boone is kind of leveling off. I know they met in the LIT and it was close throughout with Boone pulling away in the end. Congrats to Cooper on this win. Should be interesting on Friday in Florenece. Cooper is right in the mix for the district!! I agree about Coach Sullivan. I've only seen Cooper play a couple times this year and he coaches from tip to last whistle. I'm sure the boys love playing for him.
  9. What was the score of the 8th grade game? How did the 6th and 7th grade Gray teams do against Ockerman? Do you (anyone) have scores and/or recaps?
  10. It looks like Brown with another STRONG game (31 points) and Crabtree stepping up with 14. I was at a middle school game last night and unable to attend, however, McQuery with only 1 three pointer? How many did he shoot? Did they go box and one to shut him down? Any game recaps? Any updates on Montgomery? It seems when he was in the lineup they had a little bit more of a balanced attack. Of course, it could just be this one game. It looks like they are 2-2 since his injury. Big district game against Cooper on Friday. I believe Boone won earlier in the year by 14 over Cooper in the LIT with Montgomery, let's hope they can do the same without him Friday.
  11. Since St. Henry can't score, I'll say: Boone - 52 Cru - 37
  12. I watched Holmes against NCC and thought they struggled with their height/bulk. I see the same thing happening here. As long as Cov Cath doesn't allow a track meet to break out, their size carries the day. Cov Cath - 67 Holmes - 59
  13. Game is at NCC Tonight. Is it still on? I think the Brown and Giesler match up will be a battle. Hopefully, it doesn't come down to foul trouble between the two of them. In my opinion, they are 2 of the best big men in NKY this year (I don't think I am out on a limb on that one). For Boone's sake, I hope they offset each other (18 - 20 pts. / 10 - 14rebs). I think Highchew creates some issues for Boone's guards. The loss of Montgomery hurts Boone's chances in this one (and really, going forward). If McQuery isn't hitting from the outside, I believe, outside of Brown, Boone will struggle for points. It will be interesting to see who steps up for the Rebels. Crabtree could be a key tonight. The loss in their last game without Montgomery makes me nervous in this one. NCC - 72 Boone - 59
  14. http://www.kypost.com/dpp/sports/mon...ne-win-over-sk The word I am hearing is torn ACL and Meniscus and surgery is likely. I believe the MRI is going to be read by additional doctors to see if there is a possibility of avoiding surgery for Mr. Montgomery. I'm hearing that there is a slim, slim, slim chance of rehabing in an effort to avoid surgery at all costs. Hence, the reason for the additional readings of the MRI. Tough break for a great kid in his senior season with a bright college basketball future ahead of him. Hopefully, no surgery is needed but it doesn't look good at this point. Prayers for a speedy recovery TMont!
  15. Congratulations to JILL LEEDOM the PLAYER OF THE YEAR for girls soccer. :notworthy: I can't imagine many defensive players have ever won this award. It's like the Heisman Trophy, it seems like the award always goes to the best offensive player. Way to go Charles Woodson, err, Jill Leedom!!!
  16. U-da-man Coach Warner!!!! Congratulations and well deserved!!!
  17. Card Sent. Let us know how today goes....
  18. Amen. Please keep us posted with his condition.
  19. Thanks. Where exactly is Sharp? Is it the Pendleton Co. Middle School? We were discussing coming down 27 to get there. If there is an easier way, I'm all for it. I don't want to be in a foul mood when I get there because of the drive. Those poor officals get blamed for everything. The game. The drive.... lol. Google says the address is 2525 US 25, North Falmouth 41040
  20. Gray Boys - Tuesday (12/7) at home against Campbell Co (5pm - 6th, 6pm - 7th, 7pm - 8th). Thursday (12/9) away at Sharp Middle School (?). I don't know anything about Sharp, other than it is a long drive from Union. Any other games of interest this week that might be worth watching?
  21. Well said!!!! As I pointed out earlier, my son's experience with the Union Raiders was incredible and rewarding. He has his helmet (Raider shield and all) proudly displayed in his room. He can't wait for next year to start and a lot of that is because of the coaches of the Union Raiders and his current Union Raider teammates and future Ryle Teammates. Being new to the Union area, I can let you know that we attended all of Ryle's games this year and the main reason was because of my sons experience on the Union Raiders and the 'family' atmosphere that surrounds the program. Once a Raider always a Raider!
  22. I was surprised at how angry the remaining survivors were when they quit. Heck, I would have been walking the down the steps to leave. I would bet that all of the remaining survivors would vote that they did NOT want them on the jury. I was surprised when they were told that they could be. To me, a lot of these 'people' use reality shows to launch their career in acting, etc.. I don't think these guys should get any more publicity, especially for quitting. Just my thought. I love the show though.
  23. At no time did I imply that Coach Warner coached this team as he DID NOT. The team was formed due to Boone Co being one of the last Counties in the state not to have Middlle school football, and the BCPWFL has a draft. Therefore, our kids never got to play together until they were Freshmen. Jefferson Co now has middle school football and KY has one of the best MS football organizations in the nation. They expect to have 200 members this coming season and even have a state playoff. The Union Raiders played in the NKMSFL and are now part of the KYMSFA. They have a coaching staff that follows the Ryle system to get there kids ready for that. No different than any other County or MS program getting their kids ready for HS.
