Rooting for underdog Augusta in this one, especially with the death in their community last week. I don't see them pulling off the upset though. They won't sneak up on GRC.

Anthony Davis could be the first star big man in the NBA Kentucky has produced in a while. I don't mean a one or two-time all-star like Jamaal Magloire, or what I envision DeMarcus Cousins being. I mean a 10-15 time all-star. The fact that he's only been this tall for two years is incredible. He's only going to get better, in all aspects of the game.

Third year in a row these two have played each other in the first round. Is the third time the charm for Montgomery County?

A week ago I would have picked Campbell County by 25. Deming played Pendleton pretty close though. I'll still take Campbell County, but it won't be by that large of a spread.

If Pendleton and Mason both win their first-round games, it will be the third straight year they've met up in the semifinals.

You are correct. I believe only once since that 2001 Campbell County team, only once has someone other than Clark County or Mason County won the Region, and that was Pendleton in '05.

You're correct. Those three were in a district along with Silver Grove and Bracken County.

Final from Carlisle. Pendleton wins their third straight 38th District title, and their fourth in five years. Very surprised this one was so close. Congrats to Deming on what sounds like a great effort. Stats in a few.

Sad news out of Bracken County today. Levi Appelman, 21 years old passed away today. He graduated from Bracken County in 2008. His loss has hit the Bracken County/ Augusta community hard, just a day after Augusta's near miracle upset of Mason County. Mr. Appelman had recently celebrated his son's first birthday. Puts things in perspective. Augusta/ Bracken County was grieving over a loss they should have won last night, but today realized that loss wasn't so important in the grand scheme of things. Send a prayer up for Levi's family.

We care as much what he has to say as we do what you have to say. Lighten up dude. It's just personal accolades. They're nice, but they don't win games clearly. No one is saying the Grant County kids haven't worked hard all year. But to accuse a school of altering the votes is silly. Be better than that. Congrats to Grant County on the big win, and good luck in Regionals. Let it go, and enjoy Grant County's success.
