Tyler Wagner is no longer playing. I know no details. Not sure if it's just an injury or something else, but he isn't playing the remainder of the year. That's a big loss for the Breds.

That may be true, I guess I wouldn't know. I played soccer, so by the time basketball came around I was already in good shape, so I thought in shape is in shape. However, I wouldn't know what football shape is.

I don't believe he's been able to do any conditioning, or much of any strenuous activity since May. I've always thought getting into "basketball shape" was overrated, but he will have to get in shape in general before he can see the court again.

Pendleton County Senior Guard Bryan Woods will return to the court this year. You may remember Woods was originally ruled out for the year due to a back injury, but has made an incredibly quick recovery, and was cleared to play without risk of later effects today. For anyone not familiar with Woods, he was a lot of what Pendleton County has been missing this year. He's another ball handler to take the pressure off of Mason Monroe. He actually ran the point for Pendleton the second half of last season. He creates shots for others, as well as scores himself, and he's a great rebounder and defender, especially for his size. If he can get back to how he played last year, he could be Pendleton's second leading scorer. I'm not posting this simply as a Pendleton fan. I'm posting it because it's a neat story of a kid who was heartbroken when he originally found out his Senior season on the hardwood was taken away, but continued to be at every practice and game supporting his team, and now has gotten better news.

Final from Mount Sterling. Another tough shooting night for Pendleton, especially Mason Monroe. Pendleton battled back, but dug themselves a 24 point hole in the early second half that was too much to dig out of. Omar Prewitt really struggled for the Indians. He only had around 8 points I believe. I hate that the block/charge call is so subjective to the referee. It's the only call I can think of where it's totally a judgement call on the ref's part. Very rarely do I see them make a block/charge call where the other coach whose player picked up the foul isn't upset.

I'm looking forward to watching Monroe and Prewitt battle. They're far and away the best two players in the 10th IMO. Two very different players, but both excellent at what they do.

Pendleton must play better than they have recently, and a whole lot better than they did against GRC to win. If they shoot in the low 20 percent range in the first half like they did twice in the last two weeks (Oldham County and GRC), it will get ugly fast. Pendleton has as much talent as anyone in the Region. They're still 11-4 with only two Regional losses, so they haven't exactly been a bust through the first month.

Brossart should win this game, but it certainly won't be a huge upset if the Camels steal one. I'd love to see the all-time series record of the Alexandria Cross-town shootout. I know recently the games have been outstanding.
