  1. Where has this team been all year?
  2. Thanks for the updates, please keep them coming as some of us could not make it
  3. I guess the only way to find out is come tournament time. They have been very focused as of late especially since the Ryle loss. For everyone who wants to see them get out and run, their scores have reflected it, no matter the oppponent.
  4. According to the Enquirer blog tonight's game is still on as of now.
  5. Your not kidding walter. Could be anywhere from 0-4 to 4-0 with that schedule. But being a Holmes fan I am glad they have played the upper echelon of teams that they have faced. Thats how you get better, whether its a win or loss. I still think they win tonight though. Hopefully tomorrow's game doesn't get cancelled so I can attend it.
  6. This game starts a 7 day 4 game stretch for the Bulldogs. I believe they will get it started off on the right foot with a win. Won't be easy for Holmes but I think they will pull it out in the end.
  7. Henley. He has had talent year after year and has finally put it all together to make runs at a state championship. Not only does has he had a good run the past few years but I believe that he is in the midst of a dynasty and will continue to put Holmes at the top of the region every year.
  8. The reason Rico is ahead of Pittman is because Pittman only plays hard when he wants to. Rico plays hard every game. He does it on both ends of the floor, always guarding the other team's best player. If Pittman gets pushed around by the other team he stands at the free throw line and doesn't like to play inside (Princeton game for anyone who saw would agree.)
  9. Ricardo Johnson, Holmes, Senior G/F is the best player in state. He does it on both ends of the floor and makes the Bulldogs team go.
  10. Anyone know when the sweet 16 bracket drawing will be held? I heard it mentioned on the radio last night of the Holmes-Cov Cath game but didn't quite hear the date.
  11. I belive Holmes will have something to prove this game and will not lose back to back on their home court. I think the Dogs will win this one by more than 15 and show why they are the defending state champs and number one in the area. Listerman should have a good game plan though after being at the Princeton/Holmes game scouting in the stands.
  12. All their losses have come to good teams this year. I don't see many teams in Kentucky able to keep up with Princeton like Holmes did last night. Until they are knocked out completely, Holmes is still the favorite to win state in my opinion.
  13. How is Scott County ranked above Holmes? Scott Co. has already lost to 2 in state teams that I know of, one of which was LCA, while Holmes has only lost once to a good Ballard team in state.
  14. I was really impressed with both teams. Yes I wish Holmes would have one, but they beat themselves with all the mental mistakes. They showed that they have the grit to come back when down. This team will not quit until the clock its triple 0's. Siebert is a good player but it seemed like all he wanted to do was shoot 3's, when he tried to drive either Rico or JJ was there to stop him.
  15. I believe Holmes will win via their defense. I think they play to the level of their competition and although they may have struggled in earlier games I believe this stretch of games on their schedule will make the Bulldogs confident for tournament time.
  16. Here's an idea: Why don't some alumni get together and set up a booster club so that we can raise money for the school and the kids who deserve these rings. Just a thought.
  17. I'm down with donating, these boys deserve it. Come on people lets get these boys the hardware they deserve to keep with them forever.
  18. I agree that talented trio along with Rice and Mayfield will go a long way for Holmes next year. I believe Rico will step up into a leadership role next year which I believe Holmes didn't have this year.
  19. Rice and Mayfield played significantly and are ready to step into the starting rotation for the Dogs. With the trio returning for one last run, I see no reason not to put them number one.
  20. Leave the format alone. The past two years the team who played the second game on saturday morning has won the state title. These kids play 2-4 games a day during the summer for AAU, so rest is not a factor. There is a reason its called the Greatest Show In Hoops, and its proved year in and year out. This year was no exception. Anyone who wants to change the format just wants to complain because their team did not win this year. For 4 days out of the year all eyes in the state of Kentucky from every corner of the state are focused on Rupp Arena watching exciting action unfold as we see high school basketball at its best. Lets no change something that doesn't need changing.
  21. Rice and Mayfield from Holmes, played key minutes throughtout the year especially the tournament for Holmes coming off the bench.
  22. I'd love to come home and see that posted on Artemis. I loved how alumni of all ages came out to support our team.
  23. Congrats to the Bulldogs. Great game and great tournament. Way to never give up when times got tought. It was well deserved.
  24. I was not impressed with Elliott County, if the same Holmes team that played the first half plays the whole game tomorrow, it wont be close. Holmes by 15.
