Doesn't Ballard lose Cox and Chiles?

Ballard will lose Cox and Perkins and needs to find someone to step in at the point guard position.

 

They return Chiles, Jones, Means, and several other players so they will still be tough but losing the above players will hurt and I would not expect them in the top 10!

 

 

7th region will be between Eastern and Jtown again with Ballard, Seneca, Trinity, Male, and Manual in the group chasing them.

Doesn't SC only lose Phares? If so, I'd probably lean towards them as #1 over the Dogs. Losing Dom, Housley, and Riley is going to be a challenge to overcome.

Rice and Mayfield played significantly and are ready to step into the starting rotation for the Dogs. With the trio returning for one last run, I see no reason not to put them number one.

Shelby Valley returns some nice players, but will have no depth and little size next year. They will still have a good team, but not top 10 in my opinion.

Dont be surprised next year if you see a little of Christian McClendon as well. He was an 8th grader who may not be ready to run the point at the varsity level but he can flat out shoot the rock. I wouldnt be surpised to see him play a little 2 guard for the dogs. He will be a big threat from 3, maybe not as good of a shooter as Riley yet but he isn't too far behind.

Phares meant alot more to SC than people give him credit, I seen them 2 games with out him this year. One was against Holmes when he got in foul trouble early and didn't play hardly at all, SC lost, then against Lex Cath in the regional final... Again a loss. Phares was huge for SC this year. Dom, Housley and Jamel will certainly hurt Holmes but we are talking about 3 players who developed into solid role players after being non existant on the runner up team in 08. It is easier to replace these role guys than a stud like Phares.

I think PG troubles will eventually get the better of Holmes (can't replace what control Riley gave them) but they still deserve #1 with the amount of talent they have coming back. Eastern has established themselves as in the midst of a great streak of years and I think they only improve. Clark Co.'s best chance at a state title won't be until the 2010-2011, but they definitely have the talent to be top 5 all year long (barring similar injury problems). Scott Co. has an incredible team but I find it hard to believe they will be able to replace Phares's post play. Boone Co. loses McFarland but I think the will-be-senior class is phenomenal and is deserving of #5.
