I would have to agree. Most of the students were not showing up when it was at their own school. It doesn't seem to be as big of a deal to most of them. When I was in school it was a can't miss event.

I would have a hard time leaving a regional semifinal team full of Juniors. If I were Willie I would hang in there one more year!

From what I have seen of Boone County they can get up and down the floor and like to push the ball, but it seems like they only do this on teams that they expect to beat. I would say against Holmes they are going to get back and try to sit down in a half court game. They will not beat Holmes but playing up tempo. I think in the end Holmes has too many weapons that can hurt Boone County. I say Holmes pulls it off with a 10 point victory.

I completely agree with you, they are just kids and they have had an immense amount of pressure put on them this season by playing under a microscope. We have picked this team apart all season, I believe in Holmes tremendously and want to see them get down to Rupp and make a run. I believe that this team has the talent to do so. I agree that they could care less about style points and the margin of victory. I want to see the Bulldog's bring that trophy home to the 9th more than anyone. But in order to do so they have to stop playing to the level of their competition and play to the level of their ability. I they can do that, they should win the title.

From my experience at NKU games they are very slow on Credit Card purchases at the box office. I haven't been to the box office in a while but I know that was an issue overall. I feel that there have been a lot of complaints about the center on here but most of them seem to be minor in nature (food prices, ushers, etc.) I would take this any day, I think it has been great for the region.

I have been very pleased with the BOK. I feel like it has been a great atmosphere and more importantly it will prepare the 9th and 10th region champs for playing in an arena. The shooting lines, length, and atmosphere are all things that can be tough for kids to adjust to and I think this will help our champs in the long run. Rather get those out of the way in the regional tournament than trying to adjust at Rupp.

Everyone keeps saying that Holmes will be fine, and I agree that they will more than likely get through the 9th region. But if they want to truly contend for a title they have to learn to put teams away early and keep the foot on the throttle. You can get away with it against Ryle, but the level of competition once you reach the tournament will increase significantly and they may struggle if they can't put away these good teams.

NCC should roll. I see Dixie hanging around for a while but NCC taking over in the second half.

We will see a whole new Holmes team for this Regional tournament. I think they will beat Ryle by double digits. Ryle just doesn't have enough matches for them. I wish the Bulldogs luck in this tournament. They will be a fun team to watch if they can make it to Rupp.

This Beechwood team accomplished a lot this season and should be very proud. This was not the best effort that I have seen the Tigers display this season, they have been a very strong team all year just looked like they ran out of gas in the end. They played a lot of man against Boone and switched everything which gave Boone some problems throughout the game. A few instances that they went complete zone Boone scored fairly easily. McFarland played a very strong game for Boone, they executed down the stretch. Officiating wasn't terrible, they let them play for the most part throughout the game. Starting calling a lot in the fourth quarter that was a little inconsistent with what they have been calling but overall not terrible. Nice effort by both teams, great game to start the region.

I think the Birds have to win this one in the paint. They create a lot of matchup problems with St. Henry down low with Grubbs. But they have to play defense, you can't let this St. Henry team get hot shooting the ball.

Beechwood will have to get a whole lot of their players to pull this off. They will definately have to shoot the ball better than they did the finals of the 35th.

I think Beechwood showed last night that they are a very strong DIII school but are not yet in the upper echelon of talent. Beechwood is very good but not yet in the same class as Holmes. But there aren't too many teams in the state that are. I just think the Tigers looked very vulnerable last night.

I am sure that everyone will want to draw Beechwood, they are by far the smallest school in the tournament, should be a easy W for whoever draws them.

IMO media passes should always be accepted, as prep fans we are always looking for as much coverage in the papers, radio, internet etc. By charging the media members we are discouraging this coverage. Why would they come if you are going to charge them to work. I would hope that this is an isolated incident and not occuring around the state.

Obviously you want to win just for the recognition and typically you would get a more favorable draw in the first round by drawing a runner-up. But in the end you still live to play another game no matter what happens.

Corey was a tremendous high school player, I would have loved to see him at play at NKU.

I have not heard anything, maybe D1allstar can help, seems to be close to the Villa program. I would think that his size would hurt him, probably a good lower level DII or DIII prospect I would think.

Blake Bryan's scoring numbers are outrageous! And Villa does not have much to go around him so he typically gets the other team's best defender. The kid is a scorer, no doubt about it.

It seems as if there are so many different people with passes. It is so far out of control that schools have to deny players and coaches or people who legitimately deserve a pass because of all the passes that are distributed to various people. I agree with the previous comments, not too much to ask to pay your $5 to support the school. However, if you are a coach or a player who is there to scout a team you should definately get in for free. Just my thoughts.
