Reality Check

I know a number of the A schools who play close attention to the conference race. Its gives a NKY "A" school something to shoot for.

I think what I enjoy most about hight school is the atmosphere. You just don't get that on TV. I agree. I can sit in a gym all day and watch games but I have a hard time watching these teams on TV. Doesn't sound odd to me!

I wonder about the Bryan kid at Villa. Any Blue Lightning insiders have scoop? I think the kid has talent but wonder about his height.

I disagree with this statement quite a bit. For every stand out college player there are 10-15 kids who have nice careers and "ride off into the sunset." Being a DI player does not open up all of the keys to the kingdom.

I believe you potentially see Bryan Station and Holmes in the second round. Not sure though, but there is a winner's and consolation bracket that is all based off of what happens in your first game. But I think Bryan Station and Holmes could meet in game 2.

Being an "A" guy myself I think that the kids who play on this level get the, "well they played an A schedule" which just isn't fair. But that argument has been going on forever! Like I said, kid was a heck of a player.

But what can be done about it at this point? I think your original point was Buckler should have been recognized. I agree with you he was a great player for Bellevue and was recognized by a lot of different people. I think he is deserving of any recognition that he can get. But nothing is going to change the AP list. Someone will always be left out.

Not everyone gets a trophy, and you may think you are the best or even be the best at what you do and never get "recognized" for it. All you can do is work hard and keep trying to be the best and be able to get by with the satisfaction of knowing that you gave it 100%. Life lesson for some of these boys. Sure its not fair, but life isn't fair.

It looked like a combination of both. Kohls is a nice player but Beechwood's defense has been less than stellar.

Austin Collinsworth is an excellent football player and I wish him luck on the next level. Lets focus on this thread of congratulating a young man on a great accomplishment. Congrats Austin, good luck on the next level.

I agree, I don't like naming an official by name. Basketball is a high speed game and things get missed. And often times what fans think are a foul are not, a lot of it can be subjective. Human error is part of the game. It goes both ways. Part of being a player and a coach is recognizing how an official calls a game and adjusting to it. It happens in Middle School, High School, College, and Pro's.

William Grant High School in Covington had a good team in 1964 too, and if they played Dayton in a close game today I think that would be an accomplishment!

Unfortunately I think the Big Trains will be outmatched in this one, Brossart can name the score.

I caught this one last night and I was very suprised by the Tigers. Beechwood got big minutes out of Freshman Max Nussbaum and Sophomore Corey Cruse and they were fresh off of the football field! Pohlgeers and Hall both played pretty nice games for the Tigers. Holmes played a pretty sloppy game for the most part but ramped up the intensity when they needed. They forced some turnovers in the second half that let them take the lead. I am sure they will clean it up by season's end. But don't sleep on this Beechwood team.

No, hard fouls during the game happen and in that situation yes you don't want the guy to score. But fouling a kid hard because you are unhappy with what he did in warmups is dirty, thats just my opinion.
