Is Calvary really that good to take Beechwood to OT?

Kohls is the best point guard I have seen this year getting to the bucket and finishing. Hits his free throws.

 

Beechies didn't have much of an answer for him last night it does not appear.

Beechwood lost a lot from last year and maybe playing Holmes tough early skewed expectations. Still didn't this game to be this close. To Calvarys credit they always play hard and are very scrappy.

Don't get me wrong Calvary is for real this year but the tigers come out and play well they win this one by 15.

Just looking at the box score you have to notice that Cruse is a sophomore, Maus and Nussbaum are freshman. Fangman wasn't much of a contributor last year, so these games are going to happen for the Beechies. Pohlgeers has to carry them and is proving that he can.

I didn't think Calvery would be able to stay within ten of Beechwood in this game.

 

A win is a win though, so congrats Tigers.

From reading the paper, it looked like this game was played at Calvary. A road win against a highly-regarded D-III rival with a very young team doesn't sound so bad to me. The fact that some folks are fretting over how close the score was shows you how far Beechwood basketball has come in the last three years. Expectations have certainly been raised.

 

BTW, are the football banners still covering most of Beechwood's gym?

Is Kohls really that good? or did Beechwood just not gaurd him very well?

It looked like a combination of both. Kohls is a nice player but Beechwood's defense has been less than stellar.

:dancingpa:dancingpa Beechwood has change the banners around some, and refinished the gym floor. They put up some basketball banners, state champion banners, DIII division banners etc, New lights. The administration appears to be trying to be supporting the basketball programs at Beechwood. Strange how that happens when you put people in the stands! :banana::banana:
