Great Night Of Hoops On ESPN

Did anyone else check it out? Sullinger, Thompson, Joseph, Barnes and Richmond all on display.

I know many think it's either Barnes or Knight at the top of the 2010 class, but in terms of being ready from Day 1, you'd have a hard time convincing me Sullinger isn't the best in the class. It's not often you see a true back to the basket big man this advanced at such an early stage...

I have a question about Findlay Prep. The announcers said that Mr. Findlay pays for their tuition (17K) a year, provides a house and flies them all around the country. He has to be making money, how does he if he's paying all of this cash for a program?

Sullinger is a flat out stud. He single handedly beat Findlay tonight. Ohio St is going to be tough with All-Ohio Red coming in next year. (Sullinger, Weatherspoon, Sibert)

I was also impressed with Trey Burke handling the ball and his quickness.

Mr. Findlay, as I understand it, is a big-time car dealer in Las Vegas. I think he gave the school (Henderson International School, I believe) $2 million to start the program, and as far as I know, he is the lone financial benefactor.

Danny Haney, the former Lexington Catholic coach, had a hand in starting the program. Henderson is in the same family schools as North Broward Prep, where Haney coached after leaving Kentucky, and Haney was involved in getting Findlay's program off the ground.

Sullinger and Northland played at the Marshall County Hoopfest last year and were very impressive, handily beating the Memphis White Station team that ended up winning the state title in Tennessee.

From what I understand, the Northland coach was trying to get Holmes to come up and play them in the Flyin' to the Hoop Classic but couldn't get it worked out because Holmes was already committed to playing in the Joe B. Hall Kentucky Preps Classic against Christian Co at Montgomery Co that week end.

Probably a good idea Holmes already had that game scheduled. Northland was very impressive tonight.

Henley would have taken the game, I'm sure ... too bad it didn't work out.

Over the last two years I've watched Sullinger flat out dominate pretty much every big man recruit on any list you can find. His mix of hands, feet, hoops IQ, size and ability to score from anywhere in the paint are just so rare to see at that age.

I've enjoyed watching all of the big time recruits on that All Ohio Red squad, but from day one it was clear who put them in a position to make a run like very few AAU programs could ever imagine...

I was impressed with the way Sullinger handled the ball for his size as well. He has all of the intangibles that you could want in a big man, and some.

On a side note, Weatherspoon was somewhat quiet tonight....or maybe it just seemed that way because Sullinger was busy dropping 32 points and pulling down 17 boards. He was also 10-10 from the free throw line.

This may sound odd, but here goes...

I love watching high school basketball in the person, but I absolutely can't stand watching it on TV. It seems slow and you really notice the weaknesses.

That doesn't make bad players, just something I don't care to watch. Does anyone agree?

I here you. Especially when there are talent deficiencies between players like a Sullinger and the rest of the field. I tuned in for some of these contests just to watch he and Barnes.

I think what I enjoy most about hight school is the atmosphere. You just don't get that on TV. I agree. I can sit in a gym all day and watch games but I have a hard time watching these teams on TV. Doesn't sound odd to me!
